  4. nice chestnut skyhuck.....I had the priveledge of climbing loads of the chestnuts at croft castle earlier in the year...some magnificent examples there. Some huge oaks at Berrington and Brockhampton also..
  5. I was down in london for the charity shield at wembley recently, had a few hours round the paddington pubs and bars beforehand and couldn't help but have a gander at the plain avenues...looked fantastic...I have a bad habit of scoping out anchor points etc whenever I start looking at trees...lol

no possibility of a straight fell/crane then..?..looks like a lot of room. Either way, great pics and a heck of alot of timber by the looks of it.

  21. any pics of it in action.?
  22. I got chased out of an ash tree by a nest of bee's 2 or 3 years ago...was about 25 ft off the floor on the main rope so I had to drop out, unhook myself and run like buggery...they chased me for a couple of hundred yards at least across a field, chainsaw bouncing around behind me on the tool strop. I got stung about 12 times in all, on the legs and arms...not a very pleasant experience...
  23. nice pics mate, whats the reach on the crane..??.. I'll bet it comes in handy alot!
  24. absolutely not...I cut and hold whenever I feel the need, and if the weight of the branch, direction of weight is a bit suspect I have a couple of short strops with a large knot at one end for holding and a crab at the other...clip it on, cut the branch, swing it and drop...groundie takes care of the strop... do whatever you feel comfortable/confident with...every climber is different.
  25. going down to exmouth in a few weeks for a days fishing...only manage to go a couple times a year but make the most of it when we all get together for a days lug drowning... going out with this chap.. http://www.deepsea.co.uk/boats/shande/ been out on the shande a few times now, boy does it motor..
