  1. I know, I know, it's a wooden Rampant Rabbit! It was pointed out to me once I'd finished it. I really didn't see it at the time. Not exactly hygienic anyway. Though actually, it is Beech so maybe it would be
  2. I whittled these, and a few more years ago. Lots of wood turning too. Not done any for a long time now, it's just finding the time .........
  3. Ah I did wonder. Angela Rayner without a shadow of doubt. She's got some principles and a good deal of fire about her, (redhead?), unlike insipid Starmer.
  4. I'd say I'm pretty low on the deluded scale. I don't go in for Conspiracy Theories and suchlike. Who is the Fishwife?
  5. Sweepstake on how much old Nige, man of the people, paid this guy to throw stuff at him? Nigel Farage: Objects thrown at Reform leader while campaigning WWW.BBC.CO.UK The Reform UK leader says he will not be cowed by the incident, which was caught on film.
  6. It's all very well bragging about the amount you earn and the crazy hours you work, but what's your point? Are you trying to identify as ordinary hard working folk? No way. The average UK earning is rather a lot less than 20k a month I think. Most people are struggling at the moment, in one way or another. Have you recently;- Noticed much biodiversity in the UK? Tried to catch a bus or a train anywhere? Tried to get a GP, Hospital or Dentist appointment? Tried to swim on a beach or in a river? Tried to find a local library? Tried to get a mortgage? Etc etc etc Nothing works properly anymore. Coming back to this country after a couple of weeks abroad brings it all into stark perspective. In a lot of ways China for instance seems like a much nicer, easier place to live at this point in time. (I'm not suggesting in any way that that's a good way to govern a country btw, to prevent any misunderstanding again.)
  7. Dr Michael Mosley Long before his time. Sad news. A nice guy, always positive and a great advocate for ideas on how to achieve and maintain good health. Michael Mosley: BBC to air special programme for late presenter WWW.BBC.CO.UK Greek police say initial test results suggest the 67-year-old died of natural causes.
  8. I'm just wondering why someone's employment status matters so much. It seems to have become this months burning question. Employee, self employed or business owner - what's the relevance? Apologies for the lack of marine life. Maybe I'm not fully a-hake yet.
  9. Worth a try at this point. Except that they're dropping like flies at the moment.

    Jokes???

  11. Thinking on from the last two posts;- we really need to rethink our voting system, the current first past the post thing isn't working for us. Suggestions?
  12. It's like Jousting, you do it on horseback.
  13. Jolly good, lucky you. You seem to be oblivious to what's going on in the lives of ordinary, hardworking folk. The UK used to be a civilised country to live in, that's rapidly becoming not the case. Which bits of the word salad do you want me to cook and then puree, for easier digestion?
  14. I thought it was his wife with all the moneys? Maybe both. Yeah, it's odd that he took the job. He's definitely not from the same mould as his two predecessors. I predict that he'll very rapidly fade into obscurity in a few weeks, and not hang around for years afterwards trying to worm his way back into power.
  15. Andy's Man Club | #ITSOKAYTOTALK ANDYSMANCLUB.CO.UK ANDYSMANCLUB are a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the... We had a guy from this group come into work to give us a talk recently. They sound like the business; free, down-to-earth, no pressure, no money, no pretense, just talking about any shit, if you want to. Just a load of blokes meeting up once a week I think, to chew the fat. Not sure where you are but they have various groups all over the country, more in the north and Midlands. Other than that; pills initially to get it in check, and then hard exercise, good diet, social contact, green spaces, blah blah blah. Good luck.
  16. Wordle 1,085 4/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟨⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Solid
  17. Can you provide some better photos please? Close up of the leaves and bark etc. The shrub at the base could be contributing to the decline of the tree, but I doubt that much. It looks like a variagated Holly or Euonymus maybe. They're both tough things so you could try cutting it back hard to see if that helps the tree.
  18. Not smug Bud. I was just taken by the juxtaposition of the two understandings of the situation. You're missing the point again, by bragging about how much YOU earn. "This is how you got your arse handed to you on the other thread." - Which thread, when, how? I got a decent Wordle score of 3 yesterday!
  19. Wordle 1,084 3/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜🟨 🟩🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Happy with that.
  20. Just stick an advert on the old Covid thread. It probably protects against science and scientists as well.
  21. Brexit. We've stopped all them dirty foreign tree deseases coming over the channel now.
  22. Reckon I'd be trimming at least half of the foliage off for starters, to reduce the demand on the compromised roots for water. Edit. Just realised that I misread the question and am thinking of Privet. That's as tough as normally. I think Box is similar but I've not much experience with it so going out on a limb here. Interested to see other opinions. Don't take the first answer!
  23. Don't know what on earth you're complaining about. Some blokes are on a "sweet 20k a month gig" - it's all gravy here in World Beating Great Britain.
  24. Interesting and telling development.
