  2. Proper butchers sausages. Pork and Chilli, Pork, Spring Onion and Ginger, and Lamb and Apricot.
  3. Very good. Shame he looks depressingly like a kid!

  6. So they're saying that Assad may have fled the country already. Where do we reckon he'll go, Russia, Iran? Or a hole in the ground like Gaddafi?
  7. Dave mate, you're boring! What is your weird little fixation with Stephen P's military background? It really doesn't matter. You're killing this, your own, thread here. Time to let it go now, move on. Share your thoughts on something relevant to the thread subject instead. Syria situation, this storm, the murder of that US insurance CEO, Romania, there's plenty to go at currently. The reopening of the Notre-Dame. The French have done a cracking job to get that sorted in just five years. The craftsmanship and skills involved is amazing. What do you think? Notre Dame: How Paris's cathedral was restored after fire WWW.BBC.CO.UK Paris's Gothic cathedral has been painstakingly returned to its former glory. Here's how it was done.
  8. There we go
  9. No idea, other than more chaos and carnage. I don't know who likes Syria and who doesn't. I think they're friends with Iran, presumably that makes them not friends of Israel. Though if Islamist rebels take over then that's bad for Israel maybe. We need that handy little diagram that I found a while back, the one showing the allegiances between all the different countries and groups in the region.
  10. Is it show and tell time then? This is mine. I'm not convinced on the accuracy though, a few of the questions were a bit weird; non of the answers resonated with me at all. This is interesting too, but again, not really a surprise. Kamala Harris isn't actually a Red at all.
  11. This might help anyone who is confused about their political orientation. Daily Starmer. The Political Compass WWW.POLITICALCOMPASS.ORG A typology of political opinions plotted on 2 dimensions: economic and social.
  12. You joke but:-

  14. I've often thought along similar lines myself. I think the huge amount of effort and money that's gone into space, (literally), over the years would have been far better spent on conserving this once fabulous planet of ours. (Granted, there have been plenty of great technological spin-offs along the way.) I suspect I'm going out on a limb here but I've never really seen the allure of space, it just doesn't excite me. I've no desire to go to some lifeless, inhospitable rock in the middle of nowhere to try and exist on artificial everything. Musk and his pals are very welcome to stay there if they make it. We've got, or at least did have, everything we could ever desire on this nice little cosy Earth. There's untold scientific research potential in the complexity of the myriad of lifeforms in the natural world around us. We'd do better to learn from it before it's too late I reckon. As you were.
  15. Yeah, it's been hard to imagine what's supposed to be coming our way this evening. How's it looking out there in the west @peds? Are you still there?!
  16. Tricky, I sense that you may be on a long journey with this one. Like trying to diagnose an intermittent electrical fault on a vehicle. Good luck. Might be time to end your medical hiatus. Teeth grinding is a weird one, I was completely unaware of it until the dentist pointed it out, (could've been a Dr though, can't remember, it was many years ago). I've a vague memory of a girlfriend saying "oh yeah, I know" also. It was pretty quickly and easily sorted by using one of those mouth guard things anyway. The "moderately clamping down on one side" might be your issue, even if you're not a Grindr. Have you noticed it being worse at stressful times? Mine was when I was going through a really difficult house buying process. (Don't use a newbie solicitor if there's a Flying Freehold involved, regardless of her looks!)
  17. It's the calm before the storm here this morning. A beautiful dry sunny day, barely a breath of wind.
  18. I'll second the ski mittens. I've taken to wearing them instead of gloves for skiing in the last few years. They're surprisly warmer than gloves. Not tried them for cycling, thought the lack of dexterity might be a hindrance.
  19. Are you a grinder? Teeth grinding in your sleep I mean? I suffered from pain in my jaw/ear for a while, couldn't work out which it was. That turned out to be teeth grinding.
  20. Oh Doug. Words fail me. (And you by the looks of it).
  21. We're on the same page. Why hasn't anyone gone back ever? Did they find something nasty there, or is it just as mundane as there's no point going back because there's absolutely nothing there? It's a weird one for sure.
  22. Setting cognitive bias aside in this instance, if you can, do you think that's actually a good thing?
  23. Never going to get there if they keep flying them away.
