  1. I was really stumped after line 2, so line 3 was a sacrificial offering. A random word to try and find some more letters in desperation. It worked, and then the T came to me in line 4.
  2. Wordle 1,057 4/6 🟨⬜🟩🟨⬜ ⬜⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟨🟩⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  3. My friend asks why anybody would bother paying for a subscription to see "adult content" these days?
  4. Too much toxicity for a nice Saturday morning. As an antidote, here's a fun way to control dandelion numbers if you're not as much of a fan as @peds PXL_20240511_080913957.TS.mp4
  5. That's sorted then, I was wracking my brains trying to resolve that puzzling acronym. Reassuring to know that I wasn't the only one but I didn't consider myself to be that old, oh well.
  6. Has anyone heard of this practice before? It's fair blown me away, can't quite get my head around it
  7. Have some! Wordle 1,056 2/6 🟨⬜🟩🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 A bit of inspiration on the second line, but also a lot of luck on the first. Thanks Squaredy!
  8. I was going to suggest this guy on YouTube, you beat me too it. I've watched a few of his videos recently, after someone else on here recommended him last week. Very good.
  9. 5 points for ingenuity, 0 points for tree felling. I can't see how it didn't fall of it's own accord anyway, it looks like he's nibbled all the way around it already.
  10. That's a heartwarming story. Another medical triumph.
  11. Never before has a porn star appeared so honourable. Everything is relative.
  12. Wordle 1,055 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 My fives are catching up with my tours recently.
  13. Interesting idea. I'd foresee it being a bit arduous though with the ember and leaf blower approach. I think I'd drill out as large a hole as possible through the centre, and then enlarge it with fire. Similar to those crappy log candles. Set it smouldering then douse it out when it gets to the desired size.
  14. That was horrible. Took me about 10 minutes longer than normal. Wordle 1,054 5/6 ⬜🟨⬜🟨🟨 🟨⬜🟨🟨⬜ ⬜🟨🟨🟨⬜ ⬜⬜🟩⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Not really my kind of word either.
  15. Do you have any photos that you could share? Bit hard to try to diagnose the problem without being able to see the issue. Is there any obvious damage to that one bough, physical or physiological? Maybe Canker or some other infection.
  16. Nothing gets past some people does it?! So, to address this, the burning question of the day; they're neither work boots nor going out shoes. They're a pair of clogs I wear for kicking around in the workshop and garden sometimes. They're fairly new so probably were fresh out of the box in that first picture. I'm not one of these weird blokes that has to have shiny shoes! Second picture was in the kitchen @Doug TaitD. (Probably with slippers on in case you were wondering!)
  17. Quite a lot of supermarket fruit and veg is disappointing compared to what you can grow in the garden. It's grown more for their convenience, (shipping, storing, consistency of size/shape etc.) Consumer taste is not that high a priority. Even stuff from a proper old fashioned green grocer is way better normally. These were Bramleys. Apparently. The were real Bramleys, from the greengrocer.
  18. Cheers. The lower bee house is a section of hollow Laburnum stem that I've got lying around. I was hoping to do something more artistic with it but so far function has prevailed over form.
  19. Oh. I assumed that the fish ate the frog spawn and small tadpoles. We've tried introducing both a few times now, but to no avail. Are French goldfish vegetarian or something?
  20. Sad times indeed, wrt to the dearth of wildlife everywhere. It saddens me as well that not that many people seem to care. Not sure if most people just don't know, or don't even believe that the world as we know it is collapsing around us. I'd love to have frogs but she has always wanted gold fish, so we've got them instead. It's a case of either or in a small pond. I'm just waiting for them to die off now, we started with 5 and now down to only 2 so getting there! Also, thousands of pond snails. The Mason Bees are out in force here this week. I think the warmth and nice weather have brought them out. They're always more active when it's sunny. It turns out that they're difficult subjects to photograph, it took me scores of goes just to get this unsatisfactory one. Interestingly, I also spotted some tiny parasitic wasps that prey on the bees I think. Not so good.
