  1. You're very welcome to some seeds. Drop me your address and I'll send them over. I don't know about cuttings, never tried either propagation method, but I'm sure seeds will work. I started with a bought, very small sapling, 4 - 6 inches, it took off quickly. The jury is out still about the husk/seed. I think it's just a case of concentrating the flavour. The husk is very potent, the seed not at all. No, I don't have a cardamom tree. It'd be nice, but I assumed they'd be far too tender for our climate. Do you have contra information?
  2. Do it! In my experience the tree is very easy and quite fast growing. I just chucked it in as a small sampling, (12"?), and it shot off. No special attention whatsoever. Really productive too. I planted it in 2017 I think. This is it now: It's an interesting specimen. Check out the massive thorns on it.
  3. I was trying not to get into the immigration debate again, it's been done to death on here, and it's going nowhere. If you really want to talk about immigration you should think about the point raised previously. You do realise that a lot of the issues we currently have stem from the former administration, and their general dishonesy and incompetence? At least the new lot are trying to resolve some of it by tackling it at source. I was more interested in the housing issue. Why do Labour feel the need to build a load of crappy new houses rather than reusing what we already have? You do realise that there's a long list of insanity and reasons why we're ****************ed? For me, immigration is low down on that list. It's a subjective subject though obviously.
  4. Good questions. I'm surprised to realise that I can't actually answer any of of them, I don't know! It's just something I do. Must have seen or heard it somewhere. I'm sure the seeds are viable but I don't need them as one small tree provides way more than enough peppercorns for us. A certain amount of winnowing is necessary to get rid of most of the little twiggy bits anyway.
  5. True dat. They're an economic/industrial powerhouse and looking to be the same militarily. They'll replace Germany as the top dog of Europe soon I reckon, in manufacturing at least. Probably good for us as they hate Russia with a passion.
  6. I can help out with the pheasant surplus, in barter for some whole Sichuan pepper, if that helps.

    Jokes???

  8. That's one answer certainly. Another would be to get some of our own bloated benefit bums off their arses. I'd argue that we don't even need 1.5m new houses though. Apparently we already have 1m vacant properties. We could just renovate and reuse those. Far more eco friendly than building from scratch and probably far better quality than crappy new builds as well. Action on Empty Homes WWW.ACTIONONEMPTYHOMES.ORG

  11. You were right, it is this thread. Well, almost. It is about 50% anti immigration, 20% anti Starmer, 15% anti net-zero and 10% LinkedIn screen shots and 5% anything other forum members have the audacity to consider newsworthy or interesting.

  16. I have to say, he always looks rather too "well covered" for one who exists solely on wild food. 😉 To be fair though, I don't think that he's ever claimed that to be the case.
  17. He's a right tit as well though. Bear Grylls. All, in ya face, brash BS. As opposed Ray Mears's calm, humble, quiet competence. The original, and by far the best. There it is then: today's polarising question. Bear Grylls or Ray Mears? Answers on a post please.

  19. Some decent cold, crisp, sunny weather please. Plus some snow for the kiddies, if you can stretch to that. Thanks Santa!
  20. Morning all. Drizzle here also. But what do we expect? That is pretty much typical Christmas weather!
  21. Ah, the inevitable edit. That's where the substance might be, if indeed there is any. Is that it now Dave mate, or is there more yet to come? Yes, I realise exactly how much plastic is in a car. Also plastic based adhesive and sealant. Cars are literally glued together these days, there's hundreds of meters of it. If you think that EVs are going to save the planet then you need to re-evaluate your religion I suggest. Anyway, you've entirely missed the point of this sub-discussion as normal. Disclaimer. I have no military service record.
  22. His choice of very much background music adds to the calmness as well.
  23. This one's a little more spicy. How many people here would "live work" like that?
  24. I think you're being slightly generous towards the right wing anti-woke mincer there. His pushing of the green agenda feels more like a means to an end, making a fortune, rather than motivated by altruism. Much like Trump, I don't believe he does anything for the good of humanity or the planet. Or anyone but himself. There's no denying his drive and determination and general business accumin though. Worth noting that his profits are partly derived from the exploitation of his workers, and others. It will be interesting to see how the conflict between ICE and BEV plays out. My guess is that he'll switch to fossil fuel powered vehicles if the pressure from Trump's other friends is too great. No doubt he'll still be very successful in that; a lot of the technologies and processes used by Tesla are ground breaking, way ahead of the other major auto manufacturers. Or, he'll continue on his current trajectory with electric cars and the oil barons will be forced to concentrate their efforts into making yet more filthy plastic that we don't need. Disclaimer. I have no military service record. Elon Musk's Tesla lobbied UK to charge petrol drivers more WWW.BBC.CO.UK Musk's firm backed the government's green stance, despite its maverick chief executive's social media attacks.
