  1. Just coming into strawberry season here as well.
  2. They'll run out even quicker next time.
  3. There's some very odd people around. It must have taken more effort to fly tip that rather than persevere with splitting it.
  4. I thought toy chainsaws were the limit of their non-productive products. No idea you could get Stihl boxers or beer glasses. Or walking frames.
  5. It's a famous Mae West line Davey, nothing to do with you.
  6. Birthday presents.

  9. Is that a lump of coal in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

  11. Nice. They're noisy little buggers. We've got a nest box and the currently resident Blue Tit chicks are making a right old racket. That was yesterday anyway; no sight or sound of them today though so they must have fledged early this morning. Leaving home in the bird world is certainly abrupt. Not like humans, where the babies hang around until they're in their 30's now. And even after that keep coming back for food and clean washing!
  12. This was on earlier Strong Message Here - An Announcement President (with Jon Stewart) - BBC Sounds WWW.BBC.CO.UK Armando Iannucci and Helen Lewis decode the utterly baffling world of political language.

  16. Tangentially at best I'd say 43.
  17. Indeed. Exactly as happened on here immediately after the Southport thing. What with muppets stirring up racial tensions with fake news, impeding ongoing investigations with amateur sleuthery and biasing juries; social media has much to answer to. It must have made the work of the police 10 times harder.
  18. The police have set themselves a tricky precedent here, it might to be problematic to adhere to with some future events. There's no easy answer on how they should proceed with disclosing details in these situations; they're damned if they do and damned if they don't really. Why police released details about Liverpool crash suspect so quickly WWW.BBC.CO.UK The decision shows lessons have been learned from the Southport attacks last summer, writes Daniel Sandford.
  19. As above. Excuse the hijack here, but I have a related question. Can anyone explain why you normally see Hazels as multi, small diameter, stemmed trees, but sometimes also more like conventional trees with just a single or a few much larger diameter trunks? Or indeed sometimes a mixture of the two arrangements. I've never gotten my head round it. I don't think it's anything to do with coppicing, but I could be wrong. Tried to find a picture of what I mean but Sod's Law dictates that I can't quite.
  20. Thanks, that perfectly illustrates the point. Profits over People. Coming to a democracy near you soon!
