  1. You need to see if a fitting is leaking or if it’s pissing out of the motor itself. Have you got any expendable/replaceable kids that could get close for a look while you run it up from the cab?
  2. Sometimes hydraulic fittings need ‘Doughty’ washers (a bonded seal with rubber inside a steel washer) to seal - this is often the case going into motors/spool blocks etc (anywhere that the male/female parts of the fittings don’t compress together inside). If you can tighten the fitting until there’s no threads showing then the chances are it should haves doughty - don’t dog it up or you’ll break something/strip threads. Also, is there a case drain and have you plumbed it into a return line!
  3. Should be a pretty easy/flexible tyre once you’ve broken the bead. As said, drive over it if you can. Plenty of lube too.
  4. Gives a good indication as to what employees cost too!...
  5. NZ is mint - we got married there and very very seriously considered selling up here and emigrating. No regrets for not doing it but often think ‘what if?’! Great country and lovely people - well done for rolling the dice and making it work!
  6. Google a firm called Thomas Higgins and get full payment for your invoice, don’t get mugged off by a chancer trying to pay you with logs would be my advice.
  7. There’s definitely one of these lining up in your future I reckon!....
  8. It looks incredibly strong - is it for rabbits or cattle?! Great run and use of dead space, good skills!
  9. Both fantastic setups - just a shame there is any potential doubt because of the prevalence of scammers and eBay’s distinct lack of giving a shit! Homework homework homework and actually seeing/touching the machine in the flesh before committing any money is the only way to go on a big purchase from eBay imo.
  10. Surely that’s a joke price? It’d look ridiculous even if you knocked £100000 off it! It is a 13 year old commercial vehicle that’s done more than 170k kilometres (unlikely to be steady motorway miles) with a porta-cabin on the back. They’ve not even put a new drivers seat in it to ease the pain of the gullible mug with more money than sense that gets bent over buying it!
  11. Do you know the seller Eddie? Isle of Lewis smells a bit fishy to me(no offence to anyone living there!).
  12. Devil’s advocate - why did you move to Devon? From previous posts it seems you didn’t go there from a business-plan point of view as you said you expected to be working away back in Scotland some of the time. Hats off to you for making it work from a forestry business perspective, but I’m not sure moving through choice to somewhere with crazy house prices (as a result of supply/demand) gives you any sort of moral high ground to subsequently moan about house/land prices. There are loads of places on this island that you could live for a lot less money (anywhere in Scotland for a start) - surely the issue lies with schooling above anything else from your radio interview?
  13. That’s very sad, cancer is a bastard. Sorry to hear this.
  14. Not massively confidence inspiring...
  15. Will you sell the Merc? If so, what sort of money would you be after out of interest?
  16. Ha ha!! Mine’s twin aux too and they claimed there was one in stock somewhere but now are coming up with all sorts of flannel as to where it is. Are you pleased with it? Is it straight?!....
  17. Is that for your 27? Has it arrived? My 2 week delivery appears to have been a dealer fairytale!...
  18. Never even heard of Eduard trailers but that looks a very smart bit of kit, and €950 for those high sides looks good value to me! Get them ordered, they make everything made and sold in the UK look like it’s been thrown together in someone’s garage!
  19. A mate used ‘2 skeletons fucking in a bin’ as a similar description recently, which had everyone present in tears!
  20. Big diesel Amarok is a very rapid machine. Can only legally do 60 on dual carriageways but that’s probably not an issue where you are!
  21. I’m pretty sure Bob Aspenarb straightened a flail rotor (with pics on here) a few years ago.
  22. Bad past experience of a previous model or not, I think it would be daft to rule out the current Navara (ime the best current pickup on the market) - particularly if giving real consideration to a ssangyong!!! That would be cutting your nose off to spite your face!
  23. Ditto - where? And is it being sold with a vat invoice?
  24. I think you’d have to have smoked a lot of crack to spend £25k on a Ssangyong when a pre registered (essentially brand new) Navara Tekna is advertised at less than £21k. Both will depreciate, but you will definitely find someone to buy your Navara when you want to swap it for something else - I don’t think there will be a massive queue of punters looking for second hand Mussos unfortunately.
