  1. My mistake - I thought the Maryport machines were in Scotland not England. And the other pair are in Wales (not the fish in the sea with the biggest dick - the hilly wet place whose team couldn’t even beat the All Blacks)...
  2. This is Lord’s setup - they’ve apparently got the only ones of these in England. Seriously productive - if you have access for artics then this is who you need to speak to imo.
  3. Forget Jenkinsons, go straight to Lord. Speak to Oliver, he’s a good guy. PM me if you can’t find a number.
  4. I didn’t realise you were medically trained!!
  5. 20lb usually contained in that guy’s drawers I think?
  6. I thought I’d seen a pic of you before!
  7. Seppo then - that’s considered morbidly obese in the rest of the world!
  8. Not related to the thread topic at all but two mates have both got low mileage newish (less than 3 years old) Hiluxes and they have both had to have new transfer boxes under warranty. Neither are worked particularly hard - used more as cars than work trucks tbh.
  9. Are you a mick or a seppo then boyo?
  10. Fucked if I know, have never milled anything in my life! Seems easy from an outsider’s perspective though, but am sure there are reasons why expensive jigs sell.
  11. Rolling a log isn’t exactly difficult though. Not a production solution by any means, but would work on a small scale surely?
  12. I’d be up for it becoming a dictatorship tbh - Steve seems to be a decent fella (for a computer nerd), if he doesn’t like the cut of someone’s jib I reckon he should just bin them for a week/month/year (incrementally). Good luck Eggs!...
  13. Can’t you just slide a piece of waney under the log every other cut? Or is that a ridiculous proposition (I’m not a miller and know nothing of the intricacies, so please set me straight!)?
  14. A guy that worked for me swore by his Cut and Climb - I’m sure it was amazing, I have no reason to doubt him as he was very experienced and he’d worked all over the country doing both arb and forestry. I have no experience of an off the shelf version, but have the waterproof trousers which are very good. On his recommendation I ordered a few for my lads, but had them made in a bright orange fabric which should (as far as I was concerned) have performed the same as the ‘off the shelf’ equivalent as the fabric was apparently the same. They unfortunately weren’t well received, described as like wearing a ‘crisp packet’. I’m not sure how waterproof they were, but the guys didn’t end up dry.
  15. VW Transvestite. This is my go-to pic every time someone else I know decided they are a surfer and starts talking about getting one... Image: First Draft on Twitter: "UK: This image shared widely of Jimmy ... IMAGES.APP.GOO.GL Found on Google from twitter.com
  16. Carry an IBC/couple of IBCs in and fill with water.
  17. There’s a vehicle dismantler near here that has a lot of Eastern European’s working in it. They chop up insurance write-off cars that aren’t allowed back onto the road in the uk and subsequently have to be destroyed, but cut them in such a way that they can ‘cut and shut’ them using a good front end with a non-damaged rear. They are all loaded into artics and I can only assume head east for a rebuild.... I also bought a van off a firm who also import/export cars all over the world - transporting super-cars in and out of the Middle East etc. In the corner of their yard were some terribly smashed up vehicles including a pretty new Hilux that looked as though it had rolled down a mountain - no part of it was straight. Apparently these were sent to India by one of their customers, where they would be fixed and re-sold.
  18. Geordie birds are mint - generally pretty dirty and happy to show you their fanny in exchange for a bag of chips.
  19. Is there nowhere you can install a ground anchor? A series of wooden posts driven at 45 degrees back into the ground in a line in the direction of pull, with the top of the closest post tied to ground level in the next closest etc etc - set right that is a very secure method with no need to pull the wall of a customer’s house out!...
  20. Balls! I thought the Forestal rotors are designed to take a bit of that though?.
  21. Small clearfell going for whole tree chip - the weather broke just as we finished a couple of weeks ago so we’ve had to lead the chip out today in ADTs instead of the lorries that we’re planned.. The Albach fills them in 4 1/2 mins...
  22. How/why did the bar break?
  23. They are building massive treehouse-style adventure play structures. It’s going to be an incredible place when finished, but all a bit secret at present.
  24. Certainly looks that way from inside my cage!!!
  25. Planting a few poles - a fun job that was a real head scratcher at times. They were 9m telegraph poles that had to be installed without damaging any trees/poles/existing structures (none of the structures are pictured as not allowed). This area was a piece of cake but you still had to plan the job to not block yourself in/block the pole’s path from horizontal to upright etc. We planted approx 60 a day - I was being fed by a mate on a 2.5 tonne Kubota. The Takeuchi was the perfect size for this job and it would have made an incredible demonstration video for Rototilt as it really showed off what these tiltys can do and how strong they are. Some poles had to be passed through/under structures and then rotated into position - I’m not sure what other setup could have got these in as quickly tbh. It is a bit niche though, can’t see many more jobs like this on the horizon!
