    Just seen that you haven’t yet submitted the report - talk to the arboriculturalist about your concerns and see what they can amend. Removing the distant trees may be unnecessary. Tree protection isn’t though - you won’t be able to dodge that one. In future, remove any contentious trees before submitting your planning application………

    Not true - the planning permission is conditional of the tree report, and the report/method statement that is accepted by the planning department must subsequently be followed until the building is completed and signed off (at which point you can fell all of the trees you’ve protected throughout the development…) To the OP - if the planners have agreed to your report and tpp you will need to follow it. You could arguably leave in the trees that are 20m away from the development but you definitely can’t damage trees that are assigned protection without risking being forced to replace/replant etc at considerable cost. If you don’t want the arboriculturalist on site then that’s upto you - just take plenty of pics to prove you followed the method statement.

    I hope that prediction is wrong but fear it may be right… If Usyk wins again then it is definitely the end of the road for AJ IMO. I never liked Fury and never rated him at all - he fought bums and never won convincingly, always looked like shit and somehow got loads of PR, and then somehow landed big fights and got arguably lucky wins. However, hats off he’s played the game better than anyone and has actually proven me wrong on the boxing front when really tested (it turns out he is actually good!). AJ should have been king of the castle - a clean-living good looking fella who is in reality a very good boxer. However, he totally misjudged Ruiz at the same time that Fury was on his way up again and the wheels have subsequently fallen off in grand style. The turn of fortune is bonkers really!

    It can be one of the most fickle too - contracts regularly change, always won on price. Rates haven’t gone up for years and there are plenty of fly-by-night firms who talk a big game but fail to pay their lads etc. Tread carefully would be my advice (but a directly employed gig with one of the electricity firms should be a very safe job).

    Get a clearview Pioneer 400. They are mint.

    I’ve had two Clearviews, and there are another 3 in my close family. I’ve also got a modern Jotul. I’d buy Clearview every time in the future - in my experience they burn extremely well and are incredibly controllable. Well made too.

    Can you try and pry your riddle plate up from below? Take out the ash pan and lever it with a crowbar to see if you can free off whatever is jamming it.

    I had half a dozen strings in one hole in the sidewall of a tractor tyre for a few weeks - they are brilliant things.

    I’d change the track rod ends at the same time (if you haven’t already) to make sure the threads are as good as they possibly can be.

    Approx 200 bar - that’s plenty. Tractors tend to be 180(ish), excavators upto 250ish (but many run lower). 200bar should be fine for a log splitter.

    Is it just a case of running it flat out when lit, or can it tick over? Any control system at all?

    What’s involved in a daily burn? Light it and come back to it a couple of times adding more logs, or get it going and forget about it? Can it be kept in from one day to the next? How many days a year do you estimate you run it off 18 ibcs? What size logs does it need? Sorry for all the questions, I’m actually genuinely interested as we are about to knock our house to bits and I’m working out heating arrangements right now!

    I was blown away that it was there - hats off to the organisers. There are only 350 people who live in the village!

    The Vulcan flew near to here on its farewell tour and I managed to find a spot in a lay-by right underneath - I was amazed how relatively quiet it was. Another mega plane, very impressive seeing it flying.

    What sort of ballpark figure are you looking for? How often do you have to put logs in it? How big a house did it heat? Does it use much electricity? Does it work if timber isn’t bone dry?

    Yeah, it was supposed to be back over here again today, but I’ve been tied up elsewhere sadly.

    Our local village fete somehow managed to arrange a Lancaster Bomber fly-past today. We arrived (unknowingly) about 5 mins before and wondered why there were loads of photographers with massive lenses - turns out we were close enough for my old iPhone to get a pretty good view!

    I’ll have a similar trailer for sale soon Mark - single axle, full width ramp etc. It’s wider than a GH64 though so might not suit your job. I’ll get some pics/measurements next week.
