  1. I'm leaning towards them. My Mrs has been given a load of vouchers for Blacks and there is nothing else that I would want from there!! They'd effectively be £15!! Wanted to see if they were any good!!
  2. Scarpa Men's Ascent Tech GTX Approach Boots - Blacks Has anyone seen or got these??
  3. Very cool. Is it just attached at the base?
  4. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y84S43qH4uA&feature=related]BEAL Corporate - YouTube[/ame] Thought this one was good too

  6. Cheers mate. Double braids are coming on nice. Made up a few OP eye to eyes and now run out of rope! ! Will have to wait the Mrs goes out and order some more!! Ha ha!

  8. Cheers mate.
  9. Walked into that one really:lol:
  10. Yep. Think there is a thread over at the Treehouse
  11. Quick question mate? Do you have a standard length for the whipping? I vaguely remember you telling me ages ago but it's long gone now!!
  12. Cheers bud. Got hold of some black whipping twine cause I was getting bored of white. How sad can you get!! Ha ha
  13. Made a little rope guide after work. Just need to whip everything now.
  14. Please do. The more the merrier.
  15. Thats awesome mate!!
  16. There are absolutely no markings on there other than 8mm.
  17. Afraid not. I was only given the mallon. Have not seen any other equipment so can't comment on anything else.
  18. Its a very good point mate. The fanciest climbing system in the world isn't going to help you if don't check the basics!!
  19. Following the recent thread about checking gear and the importance of inspecting the equipment that you trust your life to, I have been sent this and felt that it should be shown to a wider audience. It was used to connect a grillon to a harness on a permanant basis and as you can see, it was left unchecked and considerable wear was allowed to build up over time and leave you with the end result. There is wear at both ends and according to my mate who gave me this, the end sheared off when the climber attempted to remove the bolt. Please don't turn this into a "I would have..." or "lets slag off LOLER" etc thread as this is not what I intended. I would merely like to highlight that this is the end result if you don't check equipment regularly and the end result could be potentially fatal. If possible, other photos can be added to illustrate and hopefully form a collection of pictures that can be used to show others. Climb safe guys.
  20. Not trying to put you off at all but a good friend of mine got a beagel at the same time we got our dog and in comparison it is insane!! He had no idea how much exercise it would need and it's almost chewed through his kitchen wall!! He had its conkers taken off and it did nothing!! Ha ha!! Think if you're firm from the off you should be fine!!
  21. Yes mate. I saw Nick's video as well. John Shutler in here put a photo up of his and thought I'd have a go at it. Just had to drill out the hole as it was too small. Off the top of my head it was about £3-50.
  22. One more and a modified wand
  23. Ha ha. Takes proper skill mate.
  24. Recent one
