  1. Toilet sometimes but mostly the sofa
  2. I know of and have met quite a few. Some are very good climbers and would out climb and out work some blokes. Some seem to want recognition and special treatment especially on social media, just for doing thier job. Not sure why though. I'm not shocked if a company has a female climber, but I'm not disgusted that there aren't more women getting into the industry either. Best person for the job should get it regardless of gender
  3. I know of a few lads who have them. I keep meaning to get one but still haven't yet! Must pull my finger out. Only heard good things about them. Not sure you'd use them on everything but handy to have if you needed it
  4. Silky. Imagine rope comes from splice, though a different pulley, back through the pinto, down to the next pulley and so on. Removes an extra carabiner from the system
  5. Thanks chaps. One of my mates is throwing together a mechanical advantage kit for assisted felling. He was talking about anchoring the system off with a fisherman's knot (not on my watch!) and the knot got in the way so this splice stops the pinto being taken out of the kit and just tidies it all up a bit. 16 strand used as it was cheap and matched the Pinto!
  6. Tachyon is 11.7mm. Are you sure the 13mm rope is Tachyon?
  7. Just looking though the old threads to try to find a nice leather pouch for wedges. Similar to this one Does anyone have anything similar before I order from America? Would prefer the leather one to the canvas if possible. Thanks
  8. Still Game is funny. League of Gentlemen is dark but very good. Watching the American Office which is great and I'd say better than the UK version
  9. We're just gardeners with ropes. What's not to like?
  10. Good job no one was asking you to make a table then!
  11. Bump! Slippers, aftershave, couple of books and got to see my little'un opening her own presents. Love it. Happy Christmas everyone
  12. I just say that I'm trying to get a tan on it.
  13. I've not read all of the thread but what has being gay got to do with the presidency?
  14. Congratulations mate. You deserve it
  15. Probably a weight off his mind Mark:laugh1:
  16. Prussic knots are used as they are bomb proof and you have to assume that you have people who have never tied a knot in their life so they need something easy and reliable. You wouldn't want to have to rely on a VT being tied, dressed and set every time when you've got a lot going on in your head!! With regard to the climbing system an apprentice uses, it can literally be anything. As long as its suitable for use, safe to do what you are requiring it to do and has been inspected as fit for purpose. Any work based assessor would need to have a fairly good reason to fail someone for using a hitchclimber system. Make sure that he doesn't get too much slack (500mm) in his climbing system and you'll be fine in my humble opinion!!
