Think it going wrong was due to species . . . By the sounds of it, id have gobbed in desired direction, triangle hinge, pull line pulling at 135degree (if lean is 0 degree, fell is 90, pull line another 45 degree round)

The plan was to build a simple frame, sides and headboard out of lengths of angle welded together, then bolted to the edges of the flat bed, then fill in´with galvanised 1.3mm tin, probabally rivited to the frame. about £150s worth of metal for the sides. but i moved to sweden and sold the truck before i completed the box if youve a truck cab landy already, all you need is any tipping chassis from a breakers yard, just cut it down to size, bolt struts across the landys chassis rails on the old mounting points as i did, place the tipping chassis ontop, and weld it to the struts. Helps if you have friends with unimog cranes and all the gear as i did (Nifty steve )

Cheers for the replys, keep any advise comming! Ian, how did you learn when you were here? Morten, thats crazy, do you ever mix the languages together by mistake? Where are you from oddbird? how did you learn once you were in the uk? The most french i learnt was when travelling to monaco through the alps, where no one spke english, but like traditional logger and rich have said, everyone here wants to speak english too much

Thats a good idea, ive got a basic basic cd, but ive been told the vocabulary they use isnt 'correct' like speaking the queens english since i moved here ive had a good circle of swedish friends. maybe i should insist they speak more swedish, then i feel like i kill the atmosphere though . . cool, ill have a look:thumbup1: Interesting . . ive lived here 11 months, started taking classes start of the year, the classes and books seem to teach correct grammer first, perhaps thats something to change, thanks:thumbup1:

Anyone learnt a new language from scratch?? How did you do it? Any tips or advise? Im taking evening classes, but struggle to concentrate as soon as it goes slightly over my head (often) then im lost for the rest of the class. Reading books, i can do a maximum of 2 pages before concentration is gone (this applies to any books-dyslexia kicking in). Any hints or tips appreciated

The last pic is a cracker stevie! I find it odd how something with as many variables as nature, people use such specific percentages, formulas. . . Sweden has opened my eyes to what trees can withstand, blows alot of written 'rules of thumb' and formulas out the window

Warm hands, cold heart. needs to be minus 5 before i wear gloves, even then i sometimes get hacked off with them and sling them out the tree down to minus 10, just move quicker! Its a better climate to work in than the UK IMO, dry cold and dry heat, blue skys, hotter summers. since last April ive only been rained on twice

Although i've only done one season here down to a known minus 28, id say no. Although like Benn says, woods much much harder, even pop cuts like dead elm!
