  4. ideal for pizza ovens if i were closer i would be your best mate
  5. i built, wrote, designed, set up, uploaded the whole lot for my web site and i am in full control and update as often as i can. http://www.firewoodman.co.uk dont know how much work it genorates but it all helps. quite often get good feedback about the site and customers are often impressed that i did it myself and am self tought in computers i dont know much about optimising using the background html code, but do use adwords as it is very controlable and easy to optimise your keywords and price per click. have also done others google adwords used frontpage2000 + 2003 to do the site and have been running it for 8 years now. after a while you will find that your site starts appearing in other places in other directories yell.com also helps as you get more results on first page of search engines i always google myself to see where i appear and to see what the other companies are doing one thing i always try to do is not copy other companies web sites and have no comparisons. dont put as much time into it as i should as it is so easy to change.

  8. i had something similar a few years ago done to me. cards pinched, slagging off, bitching.... they soon talk to the wrong people i just let it be, and laughed it off and just improved my service. i,ve now got thier contracts and no sleepless nights "proof of the pudding is in the eating"
  9. you won't be able to lift one but may be able to drag it you cant even lift a "barrow bag" be careful you dont underprice yourself....... if demand exceeds supply then you are in control once you have sold all of your good wood cheap, what do you do when there are still months left for you to sell wood to previous customers who are relying on you for seasoned wood to keep warm and you have sold out? what is more important to the customer........cheap wood or constant reliable supply? this is not a sideline anymore it is now an industry
  10. lime does dry quickly and i have found it burns pretty well when fresh if put on an already lit fire. burns well when seasoned and does give off a good heat. can be nasty to split as is twisted and stringy i used to say no to it before but not anymore

  17. our problem is the advice web sites which dont get updated regulary always pup the price for firewood really low. if we ourselves set a national minimum then it would be worth while. i do belive woodfuel will be big and you 88 will get busier
  18. limit is 50k+ from base you need a tacho under 50k from base you need a drivers daily log book as for 3.5tonne vehicle i have no idea. most i know is your total weight allowed in combination is 4.25 tonne (3.5t +750kg =4,25)

  20. fully agree. we work dam hard and provide a good service and are professionals not just doing it for beer money. when anything breaks down it all comes out of the profits as does the maint, its all oil prices though. what are granny logs?
  21. i give out fridge magnets with my details on. if i were doing tree work and i desperate times you need desperate measures then on my leaflet i would have an offer. have a quote for work and be in with a chance to win a bottle of whisky pikeys dont do that! plus with every quote the customer gets to see you are genuine from talking with you
