  1. same as steve really 10"as standard but could be smaller, any other size is cut to order with advance booking. come to the conclusion that no matter what size they are you will not please everyone. too small, big, fat, thin, long, short. wrong shape, not 1/2 round, too much dust. too dry, burn too fast, dont delivery on a rainy day the list goes on.................................
  2. includes the air aswell for that price. if they want solid wood stacked, then that takes time and labour, so it would cost more!! i advertise mine as " a cubic meter of loose split wood, tipped off on delivery" if they want it barrowed/carried and stacked on delivery then they pay for that too.
  3. i'm 55 but know of others charging 75 put delivery charge on this year for obvious reasons
  4. a builders bag is between 0.7 and 0.75m3 ( cubic meter) that guy unloads by hand for that price aswell as free delivery prices in our area average at £60 per m3 + delivery he obviously wants to undercut the competition i too would by the lot
  5. happened to be in maplins today to get a fuse for alarm system after some **** tried to break in and knick the gear. anyway bought that moisture meter.. just as good as that protimeter i used to have and only £20 bargain!!

  10. so mainly for pleasure then unless its on a large scale. kinda like a large garden
  11. anyone own a woodland? how do you work it? what did you pay for it? (if you don,t mind telling) what do you get out of it? what can you do with it? do you enjoy it? reason i ask is i would love to own one but have always wondered if it is worth it would it be for profit from production or for re-sale or would it just be for sheer pleasure and self satifaction
  12. how much do you pay them per bag?
  13. found this site a few weeks ago and ordered some stuff and its all original. remembered it today when looking for database http://www.software4students.co.uk you dont need to be a student, just have a relative that is. i got ms office enterprise for under £50 bargain if you like ms:001_cool:
  14. why do you need a roof over the top of the trap? log pile is over 200m3 so at would take a lot of smoke
  15. had a dead polecat last year. thanks dean. kinda figured that one. whats the best bait to put in a live trap then?
  16. on an arable farm with free range poultry, so not too easy
  17. does anyone use a computer to store their customers detail andwork carried out, price, time etc i want to set one up but not good at this sort of thing. any help??
  18. i was told when i resued my dog that a x-breed will have les problems with health and lve longer than a pedigree, which was more or less confirmed with that program martin clunes did. the reason in the end i rescued a x-breed who is 13 now and only just going deaf and blind but been a figure of fitness otherwise. in fact took him to the vets recently and she thought he was a pup (6-12months) and was amazed when i told her his age, plus had him castrated under 6 months which kept the puppy qualities.
  19. had(squish) 3 on farm now got a new kitten
  20. yeah forgot to mention following on from terrier thread:blushing: got a dog now, x-breed border collie, going blind and deaf, had him for 13 years. a great companion and fantastic with the kids but we do find things a bit restictive now with owning a dog and the kids will be heartbroken when he dies. problem for me is i dont live where the wood is stored and the area is very busy with traffic and machinery and the dog would not be able to stay there overnight unless it was on a chain and i'm not a fan of that.
  21. anyone else have rats in the wood pile? any ideas on how to get rid of them? cant poison them cos they'll die in the pile and live traps aint working too well
  22. whats the one in your avatar 88man?
  23. yeah. been a bad summer for drying wood and it aint looking any better either!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. oh yes, so it does. ha ha:001_smile:
  25. yes it would be nice to preserve it. but it is in a farmers field taking up crop space and they are not renowned for their care of trees. although there are to quaint villages close by who may cause a fuss should the tree be removed. it is a favorite dog walk spot aswell
