  1. Track rod got hit by a stump the other day and put a helluva bend in it, tracking was out somewhat! Just put on a sumobar from Gwyn Lewis. Same price as an original, about £90. Could have bought one from Britpart for £16:what: but wanted something a bit stronger than spaghetti holding my wheels together.
  2. Might not be related but Labour came to power in 1997 after 18 years out.....
  3. The other day, and not for the first time, my air filter cover fell off along with the filter element - couldn't find the element anywhere:mad: Anyone else have this problem with their ms201t, and any tips to stop the cover falling off? Cheers... Al
  4. 5.5, 5.2:confused: What happened to 5/32, 3/16 and 7/32? Only sizes I've ever needed in nearly 30 years.
  5. That was a classic! Or so my daughter tells me as I wasn't watching it:rolleyes:
  6. I've looked at two Oaks recently that showed signs of decline in the crown - slight dieback of the branches and sparse foliage compared to neighbouring trees. On closer inspection both had Grifola fruiting bodies at the base of the trunk, so am recommending that the crowns be reduced to remove the dieback, and lessen windsail effect. From reading this excellent thread the Grifola is a deep root decaying fungus, yet both of my trees were showing signs of decline. Did the oaks looked at in other areas in this thread have crowns in decline as well? Al.
  7. Caught a glimpse of something about saving Londons oldest tree. Will be on in the next 15 minutes sometime.
  8. I recently put up a post looking for a climber, experienced or trainee, to help out full time but not had any replies yet:sad: There are also a lot of other posts on the employment board for companies looking for staff at present, and was wondering if we have gone from one extreme to the other. I know I am the busiest I have been this year so far, and that is not because of the storm recently. Anyone else struggling looking for staff? Al.
  9. Yes we do, but I can't call him old man, what that make me?
  10. Trainee climbers already holding CS31/32 and aerial rescue, but wanting experience also considered. Cheers...Al
  11. As a comparison for you I believe this is Grifola
  12. Looks like a good replacement for my arborcoms, plus I can have 4 for the same price as 2 arborcoms. Can you have three Sena headsets paired up together for a three man team? Cheers... Al
  13. I have a vacancy for an experienced climber as work load has increased somewhat. Usual nptc's required and minimum 3 years experience. Ability to drive a 7.5t lorry would be a bonus! Varied work but NO Street trees! Self employed or paye, rates depending on experience. Please reply by pm or call 07841 143536. If calling leave a message and I'll call you back. Cheers.... 14. How long have you had your set? Maybe I was just unlucky.
  15. I wouldn't! They were great for the first 18 months then started going wrong. Mike wire breaking inside the insulation so couldn't see it. Not turning on. Speaker packing up. Had them refurbished at a cost of £100 (don't forget they cost nearly £700 in the first place) and now a year later not working again:mad:
  16. If we had smell-o-vision it would help:D
  17. I had the apple tree fungi down as honey fungus. Didn't think the caps were shaggy enough for Pholotia?
  18. A job for boys with big toys today. Large oak had a failed main fork, luckily landing in a field. Client wanted the whole tree down, so down it came.
  19. Dry but wind picking up, and power just gone off - tree down somewhere maybe?
