  2. I have a picture in my office by Andrew Cowan of a fracture with a pipistrell bat in it:thumbup1:
  3. I have an old hornbeam which fell over most of the root ball came up but it still lives. I think i have not been in that wood this year yet.
  4. No Fistulina was not on that tree. I have got Fistulina coming but there is alot of Laetiporus which is not really the time of year. Well not so common this end of the year.
  5. Yes i put wire on the bridge but i have not done it in the picture. I use 065 with the alaskan and 026 with a mini mill:thumbup: I have to put wire on bridges or the beaters willmake a claim you know what the shooting lot are like:cursing:

  15. Nice clear photos Sean. I was in Kensington park the other week and i saw plenty of fungi on them trees i got loads of pics but i cant upload at the moment for some reason.

  21. This is a good point. I was reading somewhere this week that a good firewood supplier will allways put some softwood logs in with the hardwoods for the customer th split for kindling and for getting the heat for the hardwoods. So i think we should sell a mixture of say two thirds hardwood to one third softwood this should supply a customer with all they need to start and keep a fire going with a good heat. What do you think?
  22. Guelder rose i plant alot of it as it likes the boulder clay soil i dont think i have planted one and it has died:thumbup1:
  23. Looks like a touch of mildew and also tortrix viridana (oak roller moth). Oaks get a lot of bad years from insects they allways pull through but have less energy to spend on growth so this year will be a small growth ring:biggrin:
