  1. David when i came here every dead tree was cut down but i have talked them into keeping some standing deadwood one of them is now home to a hornets nest. The front park is all tidy but out the back is left alone
  2. This is my oldest tree i call her my old lady she is about 870 years old Her DBH is 28 feet 8.9m i think. Two years ago i grew 150 of her acorns and planted in the park look at her crop this year.

  9. A man down the road from me does horse logging but he uses welsh cobbs he was trying to get a Suffolk punch but as an endangered breed they are hard to get hold of
  10. When boughs fall off in the park i cut all the branches off and i feed the highland cattle from my hand i am their best friend when there are leaves and acorns to be had:biggrin:

  17. The wife and i had our honeymoon in a four poster just like that one it was very nice not spooky at all. David i have seen Laetiporus growing in doors under a sol plate which had got damp giving the fungus a little drink:lol:

  19. Yes the reason for this thread is i have been thinking about the skill of old craftsmen could we make anything like it. All the pics are oak just look at the colour difference.

  23. Yep thats radio 2. But i am to old for radio1 and not old enough for 3 or 4. The farm manager listens to 4 and its bad.
  24. Here in suffolk, i drove my tractor across a clients lawn today and it did not make a mark. On radio 2 they were saying don't travel if you don't need to in scotland.
