  3. If that is the case then this is going to be one to watch for. If you see Daldinia concentrica at the butt you could have a soft rot, windy day it will be over:001_smile:
  4. Well this is defo soft rot now is it the Daldinia which is a white rot or could this be polyporus but has not had fruiting bodies yet?
  5. You are right again david. This tree is tagged and i did a hammer test on the butresses and they are totally gone and they were solid this time last year. This is not a very good combination i think. The wood has broken down as fast as ganoderma does on red oaks:001_smile:

  17. Went out today over eat i am a afraid then went for a walk in Giles hill country.
  18. Just a little study on Daldinia concentrica. picture 1 the butt was rotten with soft rot. picture 2&3 you can see it moving from the bodie spreading into the trunk. These were coppiced ash around a pond most of the stems were dead.

  24. Also i would like to thank Ian leach for all his help with my woodturning so far. And lending me woodturning books. And thanks to Dean lofthouse for help with ? hahahaha:lol:
  25. So i think maybe we should start at the bottom. Small bag of logs holds what 12 logs so say 50p each count how many logs in your truck then x by 50p bingo thats your price:lol:
