  1. Handy machine, powerful and narrow access.
  2. Looks like Bob's I.V. tea flask.
  3. Does it have to be climbers, or can it be other aspects of the job like felling or machinery or whatever, Steve?
  4. It is good, but I wouldn't want to drive all the way to Hampshire on it!
  5. Fancy, someone wanting them all 8" long. Well I never...
  6. I'll buy as many two tonne loads of oak and sycamore logs,as he's got for £100, with the weighbridge ticket of course. And they must be 8" long, and can you stack them round the back?
  7. That will mean its good for £200 a load then.
  8. Any idea of a date yet, Darren?
  9. If you have a good supplier, thats open when you need it, then its probably worth it.
  10. None cos you fired it?
  11. Unless you are making your own, it isn't that much cheaper. I tried some off a local supplier last time diesel price went up, but sporadic supply and the inconvenience of when they were open, soon put me off. For what bit you save, I could earn more in the time spent fannying about obtaining it. And it stinks....
  12. None, cos you probably chipped it into the border behind the chipper, Brett.
  13. They need to be cheaper than that, mate. Jonesie sells 56 DL chains at £10.88, with a box. How much for the job lot? ... As I have said in the last 2 threads you have put up about these chains, and not replied to. Come back with a sensible price.
  14. We made a last minute decision to go on Friday as we were sick of being wet through most days last week. Turned out a real nice day. Nice to catch up with a few people and met Steve and Andy C on the arbtalk stand. Pete B, I'll pass those crane details onto my friend. Got down in 3 hrs , but took 4 1/2 to get back with crap traffic Nice day out and the lads appreciated it. Personally, I thought it was a lot quieter than last years show.
  15. We always give it back if the owner is awkward It doesn't say in Law what size it has to given back in ...... Just point that chipper spout over the boundary, jobs a good 'un!
  16. Thats a great quote, Dean. I shall remember to use it at an appropriate time. Nice work Tommer.
  17. If you get to the stage of a new bar, chain and sproket and it still does it, then the cranks slightly bent. Can happen if a saw has been running real hot with a tight chain and is then put away without slackening off the chain. Slackening off the chain at the end of work is a good habit to get into, particularly in hot weather.
  18. What he said. Also, if you have been forcing a chain like this for a while, the bar will be unevenly worn as well. New bar, chain and sprocket. Try it then.
  19. I have one on the go at the moment. I have applied to crown lift and reduce some trees back to the boundary to suitable growth points etc. Trees are in a belt under a blanket TPO, overhanging a garden. The belt runs along the rear of a lot of other properties. The owner of the trees, with whom I get on very well and work for on occasions, has refused to allow access to his land and any pruning beyond the boundary line. He's happy for me to carry out any work but not to access his property or climb the trees to do it. His argument is that once one garden has had it done, other people will take things into their own hands and start hacking back and felling on a Sunday or whenever like a free for all; thus defeating having the tree belt protected. Apparantly a nieghbour had had a go once and got caught, and was left in no doubt about the consequences of thier actions should it happen again, both from the owner and the council. So I asked the TO how are we to prune correctly and it was basically "do your best, but don't cross the boundary". Fortunately, I have a pole saw and a mewp.
  20. Dean who works for me is going, but he's not a member on here. 18 Stoner might be going.
  21. Was reading Junes Forestry Journal this morning and Simon Bowes has given the new Autotune Husky 576 a glowing review. Looks like one to watch out for.
  22. Everyone picks the old 262 up, its our go to saw. I'm liking the 361 stihl, though. Sit them next to each other and the dimensions and balance are almost identical. The stihl doesn't feel like a stihl. Same you can't put the 361 on .325 with a 7 or 8 pin sprocket though, cos of the large centre, that I would love to try.
  23. You love that 262 don't you. I still like mine, and its stock.
  24. Work positioning. Save your money and don't get it in your eyes in the first place.
  25. Well, I might come, or not, depends ...
