  1. I have also had the black diamond touchstone for similar amount of time. One of the best bits of gear out there. Never managed to even put a single hole in it. Buy quality.....but once.
  2. looks well safe. fit for purpose.......
  3. Big shame if the Cinch is being stopped. Amazing piece of kit and very versatile. Certainly the best lanyard adjuster/device ive ever used. Luckily i have two and one of ems pretty new so hopefully will see me through til something similar comes out.
  4. crikey I'd incinerate that silver streak stuff in a single big climb.....mind you im hardly what you'd call dainty these days! or any day for that matter....
  5. yeah like the look of that. a defo contender for next harness!
  6. I have a bungee/brummel'd rope on the rear of my harness that I use to advance the wrench etc. I used to have the shackle at the top of the tether but found more efficient at the bottom to get maximum distance. Still digging the wrench bigtime and reach for it everytime now. Defo the best way to climb for me at the moment. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
  7. Here's mine! Used to used spliced eye to eye cord but couldn't find a hitch that worked well without it sitting back a lot or being really long so gone back to trusty fishermans so I can adjust the length. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
  8. I climbed using a similar setup for a while before the pinto came out. I was using a petzl fixe pulley. tecnically not supposed to use the becket on the fixe but I found it to be a nice compact system.
  9. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk ED 209 tether! Ha ha...That looks awesome.
  10. Here's my new tether. I stitched two thin metal rods into the sling to ensure its rigid as the sling is exposed where I've placed the shackle. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
  11. Just turned up today. Like ballistic slippers! Really like the Rand that gos right over the toe. Gives loads of grip. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
  12. Treeworker I have just ordered a pair of these again from treeworker. I had these ages ago and they are so comfortable to climb in. I find most of the new boots too bullky for me.
  13. nice krabs! i'll google those right away. never seen em before.
  14. I use 8 meters of mammut dynaflex with a cinch and a 6mm prussik for single line use. Sent from my BlackBerry 9900 using Tapatalk
  15. Blimey that is worrying. mind you, I suppose if you use anything enough its going to wear out right? like the cam on a spiderjack or a positioner. I do totally get your point and at the end of the day it comes down to the manufacturers guidelines and to wether you deem it 'fit for the purpose of the task' you are undertaking. I've always found it to be a sturdy device and I use and abuse mine in single line configuration an awful lot. I do tend to use it with a dynamic climbing line though as have heard that a fall with static line could be bad news and damage the device (and the climber!).....
  16. well clearly it is fit for purpose or you wouldn't be using it for those applications.....because it works.
  17. Fit for purpose is my argument with that! It seems like people just make their own rules up about equipment to me:confused1:. At the end of the day its a belay device with an appropriate working load limit. Why do many of the suppliers stock it if it shouldn't be use industrially... fantastic, functional and safe piece of kit.
