Oddly, i didnt see the ad calling for ' Proud heavy drinking fat blokes from Southend with poor parenting skills and no bladder control ( and who would shit themselves at the first mortar bomb on a real battlefield) to protect inanimate objects with names they cannot spell'........   9. Its a hard task successful transplanting, did you sever roots? What has weather been like near you? Was the pre-transplant work staged? K

    Poor man. Hate it when things stack up against you. I have use just veg oil in my saws, works well. Engineering cutting oil with water too. Dont have much faith in sticky oil. K

  16. Try dressing it with a file which is hardener than the blade 'should' be , if it just rings off n don't remove metal, that's too hard fr a chipper blade. K

  19. Yup. Steel needs to be tough enuff to keep an edge - but too hard an its too brittle to put up with the hammering - hence yr near miss. K

  21. @neiln honestly mate, its an art, old hands on here get them cutting like knife thru butter - do it by the book an it will get you there but once yr on top, its sharpen sharpen sharpen - you will detest dull teeth. K
  22. I think yr closer to the truth there- watching video again it looks like one hydraulic motor has Koncked, plus they are running faster than I would be happy with . So TWO new motors an filter and a flush through on yr hydro oil . Not massive money and they will be standard motors anyway ? K
  23. ( The French actually used a lot of Whitworth threads as Lathes sent over to help the rebuild were Imperial ) K
  24. Got my T13 out of a skip. Good clean up n new rope and pipe fr a handle and been a cracking winch fr years. K
  25. ....... This IS why i have a ****************loads of tools in my shed/s and skinned knuckles n burnt boots from torches. Cos fixing stuff is a core part of Arb/For and often unpleasant but if time is of the essence its unavoidable ? K
