  1. hi there not too bad!! we did some a while back we just spiked up taking the branches off id say best not to let a big pile build up and could try and get hold of some welders gaunlets these have extra protection up the arms and are tough gloves. good luck! at least you didnt get asked to reduce it like my boss asked me the other day, ended up a ladder with the pole saw! cheers carl.
  2. cheers guys will have a look on their websites or give them a ring, cant really aford more courses now so i guess that kind of amswers my question anyway!! cheers carl.
  3. thanks guys will give them a try, ill probably do both just to be sure.
  4. just passed the theory side of the level 2 rfs course and i understand one has to complete a number of practical units before awarded the full rfs cert. wondering if there is a time limit to apply after completeing the theory and if it would be affected by the changes to the course in the future. thanks carl.
  5. hi think the crank seals are leaking on my husq 254 just wondering if any one knows where i could get them mail order, also is it just a case of removing the clutch and flywheel sides?? cheers carl.
  6. no harm to keep an eye open for other jobs about although you are only worth what someone is willing to pay you! and you dont want to suffer the ol out of the fire into the frying pan scenario. good luck as working hard and feeling under valued can get you down, a good boss makes all the diffenence imo worth looking for. carl
  7. yes the product in the above post works well, also you can buy powder dye that you can just sprinkle a bit it the knapsack this works fine although the coluor i got was red which didnt seem as good as blue that i had used. p.s they sell it in the vet chemical shop in bandon. cheers carl.
  8. iam a big fan of the tachyon that you used on the course, its very light and has low stretch. id also definitly pay a bit more and get a spliced eye on the end too. carl.
  9. were you the driver in ALL those photos !!!!
  10. hi adam i presume you are talking about the distance learning course from the hcc collage, seems to be a good course i have just passed it although i had to resit one of the therory modules (there are three) the exams are evry 6 mnths. i think the theory is kind of seperate from the practicle in so far as you get a cert in the thorey, without doing the practicles this is not the full rfs tho, i must admit it havent really looked into the rest of the practicles should do really. hope this helps a bit chees carl

  12. thanks for all the info, seems like its between the berlingo and kangoo for me i may try and get the newer nissan kubistar same as kangoo ( i think) would be happier in a nissan really looking forward to the extra space currantly in a nissan micra probably the best car in the world aside from the lack of space and speed!! cheers carl.

  16. hi just droped the saw into the shop today as the chain brake return spring had gone and i thought they could stick a tacho on it and double check the tunning. ill let you know what they find, until then iam gone dream about getting a nice new saw. on that subject is there a saw that has the power and revs of a 361 but is a little lighter as i only have little arms and a bad shoulder, tried a 026 but is a bit slow imo any thoughts ? could be sthil or husq! cheers carlos
  17. hi i would recomend one of those petzl karritool clips for the saw there great, i always return it to the clip, saves loads of time when climbing and is a lot easier on the saw, although the clips break easly. carlos
  18. hi thanks for the advice, and the offer of help from your bro( billy goat). ive decided to just use round up and probably do a couple of sessions. i looked into some of the other products and some seemed hard to get due to spray tickets and really pricey and as this is a low key cheap one off job cant really justify those products, thanks again carl

  20. i use a lock jack and sort of art rope guide( homade with art pulley) there both exellent and well designed, although iam still getting used to the lockjack its still good. expensive tho but most good things are arnt they!!? carlos.
  21. hi done all the strimmin. gone leave it a few weeks until a good covering of regrowth. there was a fair bit of bramble and bracken in there and in the past i have found that roundup has not always been that succsessful on bramble and bracken it seems to stunt it rather than kill it. should i up the dose or try a different product. what dose do people normally use in the situation?? i know it has doses on the label but i havent got any yet( still saving!!) any thought would be appreciated cheers carl.
  22. thanks for the links, looking at them i think i might of used the locking brummel on one side of the eye and the tapered splice back in on the other??? is this a way of doing it or have i got confused? cheers caRL.
