  1. bloke that told me how to spike he said the first thing u must do is not to hug the tree he said u should leave just enough room between u and the stem to s**g ur miss not only that he told me if i did get up the tree he would kick my back side from the ground to the top of the tree and wire core can make things easier found this hope it helps u out

  11. best advise i can give u with spikes is buy Distel Aluminium or carbon the carbon ones are nice u just got to remember to take them off as soon as u get out the tree thats what i brought after trying 2 types of spikes out i hated spiking till i brought my carbon ones

  19. if im wrong then tell me but when i went self employed and i went to see my accountant he told me i need to be earing money from more than one person and if the tax man checked me out i need to prove im earning my own money rather than 1-2 people paying me a wage as ur not paying as much NI being self employed u could be asked to pay the a back dated amount of NI to the last time u was empolyed as the tax man would look at it u should be employed if u are going to ask u boss for a better day rate be carefull u DONT want to lose the job u have get on the phone and see if u can find more work
  20. think u need to start looking about calling other firms see if they have any work landscapers may be a good starting place i do a fair bit of climbing for landscapers u dont want to mess the bloke about that u already work for as he pays ur bills u need to find other work as well putting all ur eggs in 1 basket is never a good idea (works for some) not saying ur boss will but if his work slows / ent there the subbys are the first out the door being self employed is a hard game and u need to think more about ur self
  21. thats cheep mate ur OWN PPE 2-stroke ,chain oil can cost u £10+ a day fuel to get to a job ur tax on ur car/van mot insurance cost of tryes the cost of ur gear and saws a quite a bit if u was to buy all ur gear again think u really need to be looking at the £90 mark at least depends where in the uk ur based when i sub out my running costs can be anything from 20-40 pound a day and thats not even looking at wear and tear on my gear hope that help
  22. fruit tree pruning is like a dark art there are alot to people round here that dont no how to prune them, they try and make a mess of it and the best one was when 2 tree surgeons reccommend dad dad taught me and im not being big headed his eyes are like hark eyes to fruiting bud i find pruning fruit harded than doing a good reduction plumbs are a big no no talking to wolfman about this the other day (FUNNY)
  23. still is a nice saw mate keep earning me money ps with the chain oil being so thick at the mo the fuel just thinned it out a bit still works whats wrong with that
