  1. how big is the tree most yew of any size round here has a TPO on it ask 40% and do what i did aim for 40%-30% 50% is what the bloke asked for and when i had finished the bloke was over the moon pick ur height and shape the tree to the height
  2. i butchered this yew with great reasults not 50% though think ur asking a bit much
  3. looks like a ts760 or ts 510 diskcutter
  4. 60-70 for 1 cm3 is the most i can get before they start telling me i can get i cheeper but then i tell them my wood is good and not green still dont change there mines

  6. cheers adam i tryed hard on the last 2 1st one was easy witch is the far one in the pic of 3 2nd one was wide with 3 main stems got pi**ed of with it chucking my toys out my pram when i was in it , it looked stupid come down to look to my surprise it looked ok 3rd one hated form the start hooked into the main stem dad took the ladder aways then i screwed at him to get the ladder back i could feel the stem flexing around the rot area (stupid i no should have looked but the day was going so well)

  9. this is the last tree the rot is on the main stem just above the ladder 5-6 years ago a bloke took a limb out the tree i see it just after it was done it looked like he cut it higher and it tore the bark down the stem i did stick a silky in it 8-9 inchs it went in so the tree will be felled at some point as it in public car park
  10. few more the last one got done hard due to rot
  11. saturday afternoon job just height reductions and shape the spec height they wanted the birch to come down to and re shape took quite a bit out the top for a birch more than i would of liked but they say customer is always rite what do u think

  13. sweetchest nut is nice never milled it but if i remember ROB D done a vid of him milling one and the wood had a nice colour and grain and lime iv always firewood but may have a look next time i get a bit of lime

  15. i will list what i enjoy milling as alec did opening the first cut up waiting to see the colour Walnut Oak Cherry Elm (old knoty bit is best) Acacia (if u can find a good bit ) and im not shore if u would call it a hard wood but shore big j will tell me i no its a hard wood to cut martin
