    3PL Hiab

I thought I had seen a palfinger hiab (not timber crane) that was a 3 point linkage mount for a tractor. I have been on the palfinger site and can't see it. Has anyone seen such a thing, was it a different make that I saw? or was I dreaming.
  4. I have had a go on a spiderjack and like most people didn't get on with it because it was hard to do a controlled decent. Jumping out onto another branch was a no no because you either plummeted or stopped dead. However watching this guy this is clearly a good system once you get the hang of it. I reckon that unlike a new hitch which you can get used to in a couple of hours this would take a couple of weeks, maybe its worth persevering..... Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  5. I like the idea of the chain always being set up properly rather than just doing the rakers once in a while. This is one of those things that will either be brilliant or useless and just sit at the bottom of the toolbox having been used once. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  6. It's worth remembering that if you have an accident up a tree and are stuck, these are the guys who are expected to get you down. This is why a decent rescue climber is important, not just a groundy with cs38. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  7. Out of interest Pete, how much would a new 9 inch greemech be? Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  8. I really like it, for example I picked up a tender by email the other day and was able to view the pdf plans on the phone. Very handy. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  9. A big hc we crown lifted today, not great pics, am just experimenting with photo upload from phone. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  10. do you do any work for farmers? That counts as agricultural contracting and will get you the ag insurance.
  11. Just a thought Stevie, as she's an old girl how about clasic insurance. I have seen a clasic tractor mag in the newsagent, why not grab a copy and see who advertises.
  12. Excelent, i have been meaning to research this and never got round to it, any idea what make of chain it is? let us know how it performs.
  13. I spent £180 on derv today... ouch, and that only lasts 3-4 days.
  14. So is that a standard LR aircon pump? Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  15. Did that come with tank? Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  16. Anyone fitted one to their truck? I want something for blowing dust off saws and the odd tyre etc. Just wanting a decent make with a reasonable air capacity. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  17. If you look at the accident stats there are far more accidents involving mewps than rope access. Especially if you exclude chainsaw injuries and just look at falls. Unless there is a catastrophic tree failiure a climber who is climbing according to best practise is extremely, and I mean extremely, unlikely to have a fall.
  18. Syc is brittle at the best of times, however you will almost always find the wood closest to the ground to be more stringy and more likely to hold. Felling at 90deg to the lean you need to be sure that the tension side of the hinge can take the strain, using a buttress as the tension side is a good idea, even if this means a smaller or larger than average gob. 19. Ring the brokers Bryant kesek, I have always found their staff very knowledgeable. Ask for Chris warburton (woman). Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  20. They are not the same though, the Austria still pulls your legs together whereas the TM And TF don't . Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  21. Or a hobbs. You can also make up a 4-1 advantage setup using a couple of double pulleys and a large rope grab. Stein also make one compatible with their lowering gear. Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
  22. The 2600 is the weight that you can put on the trailer, IE the trailer weighs 900kg empty.
  23. there's loads of apps on android, not sure about sewdish tho. go into your menu and look for the "market" ikon if its there, its a kind of app finder.
  24. Thanks, do you know if the gomtaro or any of the other saws can be sharpened, or is it just the sugoi?
  25. Nice, I'd like to try that. Where did you get the files? are they a silky product?
