  1. arrived unannounced today, more paperwork to do,but on the whole ok, i hope. said they have disqualified several members , but wouldnt say who.
  2. mouldy logs ?? tacho and cpc when delivering with trailer ?? m3 bags vs builders bags 0.65 / 0.75 m3 ?? price difference / public perception ?? what is the local competition selling in. ?? i do ponder these problems all the time while processing. packfix system works well and low cost. metal stillages / potatoe boxes ,high investment cost. ability to move in and out of shed to store grain at harvest. but more profit from logs than farming.
  3. made my own , after not getting any sense out of wilsons. see it on you tube. 2 m3
  4. take a look at these guys. superb lunch today. https://www.facebook.com/creativeoutdoorliving.co.uk
  5. are these informed comments or off the cuff remarks ??
  6. i have a BGU SP20 , never used it, a friend has it, be suprised if its done 25t from new. bid me...
  7. and thanks for the publicity. only one thing worse than being talked about
  8. thanks for highlighting the ignorance of contributors on this forum. from your name you may possibly sell firewood. so have a gold star for the ignorant highbrow comment of the day. back to school for you. learn at least something about dry firewood.
  9. you should be getting 1.2 mw/day £90/day @ 7.5p/kw or are you on 8p fan on 5.5 unless its chestnut or wet, then 6.5/7 had it on for last week, because of frost, kiln up at 55"c even the big logs dry and burn better when split. so why sell your big splitter.
  10. two new to me customers, who have had to reinstall fire and flue due to damage caused by burning wet crap and coke, nearly lost their houses too. some will learn ,others will not. quality will always sell. everyone thinks its so easy to produce good ready to burn logs.
  11. dry feedstock.... refuelling 3x / day, ? you feeding it crap ? use in low humidity conditions, last few days ideal. nice dry air.
  12. exactly. pull a trailer and you exceed 3500kg MAM. will tomatin please quote chapter and verse details of the exemption you used .
  13. was going to look up the GDP of the uk. 2014 2.9 trillion. so primary food production contributes 2% to the economy. if i have the decimal point correct. bugger all. then what is the publics spend on food, when its in a packet. and what proportion of their income or GDP is that. why. we sold oats at £150 /tonne this year. in aldi basic cheapo rolled oats £0.65/kg or £650 / tonne explain/discuss.
  14. ok, back to the derail. farmers guardian email news "New data from Defra showed the Total Income From Farming for 2013 grew to £5.63 billion." now, how much does the population spend on food, mortgage, nails/hair ect, we are paying Europe an extra 1.7 billion due to economy doing well. so farming aint that important in the scheme of things.? ???????????
  15. WRONG ish cheaper and better for environment to buy in food and grow energy crops. rye, wheat, grass, maize, sugarbeet, all ideal for AD digester's.
  16. yes a brilliant find there lucan not stopped laughing yet i want to be that farmer as opposed to this one. and those feathered things made of chicken, god they will be saying logs come from trees next. BRILLIANT.
  17. still amused. no one has got the point yet. subsidy's aim to keep the countryside looking like the public perceive it. quaint farms and fields with animals in them. oh,and politicians view,European food security. it is, and always has been, pre 1st and 2 nd world wars, cheaper to import food. plant more trees, but they can not get that right either.
  18. 2 tonne in a transit ? got a weigh ticket from a certified weighbridge.?
  19. oh you are all so funny. cheapest food ever. shops full of stuff. you have never had it so good. 200-300% increase in property prices, nice but your priority's are upsidedown.
  20. a few pm"s in now, confirmed my inital thought pre post, i can not net my own logs for the price. just to find the right quality. and stacked pallets that will stand re handling without falling apart.
  21. well that got a lot of relies...
  22. thinking of buying nets in. what prices / quality out there. luxury wood £3.41 / net delivered 4 pallets 280 nets whole sale wood.co £2.38 /net recommendations ?
  23. yea......right, you bring in fresh chip at 60% moisture.........they sell pellets at 5%, where has the water gone. and at what cost to whome.
