  11. Hi Minas! Hope you are well! I had the Austria! until it wore out... I bought the Austria II and think its a great improvement, really like the low bridge and attatcment points. I use the low side D-rings quite alot. I would buy a II again ant cant really see why they made the III? If you like the style (III) i would look at the Treemagic or Treemotion instead.

  14. Yeah but if you plan ahead and do this little thing at your refillpoint before you start cutting grit..... Not for everyone though as some people cant plan a pissup in a brewery....
  15. Borecut about 1'' from top, bore a few times to make the hole wider, cut down a few inches and then up through the top. mark the bottom of the cut on the outside, bore through to take some wood out, cut from the side leaving a hinge, cut top sides off to make charpening easier, place your saw and insert wedge and give it a whack thus locking your saw. The saw is tight around the bar but chain is possible to move as in a normal vise.
  16. As per title....have you? A little instruction how to make a handy vise at your refill point! I went to a refresher course earlier this week and was reminded of this little gem. Sorry about editing and poor quality as I filmed it on my Iphone. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Byq2Xiy6dFw]YouTube - Woodland vise[/ame]
  17. No its the technique beeing taught according to the best practice in Sweden. I belive Soren Eriscon came up with it when he was training americans how to fell big trees safely. Just done a refresher course. The trainers were taught by the man himself! Refilled the bag of tricks and fitted a fair new ones in there aswell...
  18. Did you try to do the gob and then bore behind it and make the hinge ready and quite thin? If you borecut from one side say half the DBH and then cut straight back and out the back you can insert your wedge and then move to the other side. Borecut and make the other half of the hinge, make sure it's lined up with your first part of the hinge. When the hinge is ready cut straight back through the other half of the tree and leave 1/2" of holdingwood in the back. Cut the bit thatholds the tree slightly below your backcut to lelease the tree. This will make your felling very safe and absolutely free of fibrepulls and splits!
  19. Opens just fine in OpenOffice.org! I usually flick through a book that interests me...look at the index...and I read the introduction and then I decide if the book is for me or not. This one my friend is one I will enjoy and love to read!
  20. Reminds me of a photo my brother took in Turkey mideighties. There was this tyre shop who decided to diversify a bit... Tyres and Computers!
