  1. Alright everyone, check out the results in the link below climbing comp out here on the west coast. 2. There's some great trees it Turin the ETCC was held there a few years back, all I can say is big plane trees, great weather. Traffic is a bit mental though
  3. good point that one Marc, I too prefer the bearings over the bushes. flows much better and work more efficiently. the only reason i can think is that it is easier to retrieve when you have installed the EQUALIZA for sharing your loads over two anchor points ::Teufelberger:equaLIZA
  4. Yep gotta say my Black diamond bag is still going strong, i must go out and get another 2 before they stop making them. And who the hell is this Q ??
  5. It's not difficult just give it all a go mate, with you travelling on your own it's probably a piece of cake. If I was single I would not hesitate at going to the island then try mainland even the interior.
  6. Driving is your best friend out here in my opinion, if theres work go and get it. As for gear it varies form what you want to buy, just look online and figure it out is the only way to know?
  7. Reg is true about them always hiring, this is a defiantly and avenue to explore. The small firms rarely advertise for jobs and if they do! you'll have to move fast or it'll be gone. Cut throat? yes winter is quiet on the work side, but i have kept busy. ask yourself this. do you want a guarantee that you have work every day and a rest easy that you will have the same income that month to the next, then your better looking at a larger firm. If you want a fun relaxed atmosphere and no politics and an up and down payslip from month to month then go small. PM me if you need more info
  8. what can i say he clearly loves you! ALLOT
  9. probably forgot too put the plug in the wall yet the battery was in the charger, i hate getting older
  10. it was and i guess i stuck at it and made it, just spoke to my broundy that day and he said in the ivy there was a few stones he found. so no surprise she was dull by the top.
  11. Yeah she is gutless i going to buy a ported exhaust for my ms200 and use that instead with a 14" bar thats a better solution short term. Reg is mad:001_tt2: and yes i can share some of those moments he has on the poorly bidded jobs that flog the tits off you mentally.. normal day is 9hrs and your average varies, and there can be allot of driving some days
  12. Steady on Marc RCO will get upset only he is the master of laying logs!
  13. You always outside the box Peter arn't you
  14. I know you were not being condescending.
  15. Yeah I do diversify sometime mr Bullman!! Can't be labelled and a gear freak all the time.
  16. Yes it's that standard model I still have my 200t but I rather use there saws helps my running costs a little but. It's excessively pants with the 16"bar on there I still think I can cut quicker with my 200 on a 12"bar
  17. Lol thanks for the advice there joe, I do know that but when you have do that you can run the risk of shocking the system and causing damage to the rope. But in that case if I had done that the amount of slack I had in the system would of caused it to be in the way of cutting.
  18. Well life definitely different here in BC work ethics and so on, not to digress. I managed to get round to filming some work the other day nothing special! and didn't film it all due to being a total tool and not changing memory card. It was completely covered in ivy from the bottom up too the top, a real test of patience that for sure!!! and i think i hit some crap on the way up as the saw got duller the more i slayed at the ivy like a man possessed. oh and the bar on the 201 is 16" greedy i know but its not my saw. hope you enjoy i'll be gathering more footage soon to post.
  19. nice to see a KISS work day, here on the west coast its all about getting it done. Good too see I'm not the only getting soaked to the core this week. have you changed your cell number reg or you just been ignoring my txts
  20. well if most are like me and enjoy getting new gear in funky colours/colors then your might find yourself buying a length of this to match your Pink Dmm hitch climber combo setup. Tree Stuff - New England Tachyon 11.5 Climbing Rope
  21. TreeStuff.com Professional Arborist Supplies and Tree Climbing Gear
  22. The Arbor Elite is aimed at the beginners of the tree world. This is good rope for beginners due to it being more plyable and soft to handle and you can tie knot with ease. However as you have been climbing for some time id suggest getting the Hi-vee with the slaice splice, reasoning for the this is you can very close to your anchor point without the taper of a normal splice getting thicker causing your hitch cord harder to operate. I hope you had a good xmas and enjoy your new purchase.
  23. showa 330 and the thermo version for winter, for the summer i recommend no gloves I usually have 2 pairs depending on the work and weather, if they get wet and its a little on the chilly side just swap them for a dry pair.
  24. Whats that saying again? Go big or go home!! I think someone should stay at home before they kill someone. "wow i don't even get what happend there" no offence but thats very clear what happened, you screwed it up and had no clue of what your doing or even the basic fundamentals of forces . killing trees is easy, doing it safely and efficiently takes skill.
  25. holy crap, looks and sounds like the guy operating the crane was still winching up. glad no-one was injured.
