  1. Well there you go then!
  2. 3 way tipping ram so you don't need to remove the chipper each time.
  3. Nice job, very nice rig. We've taken down a few large Limes this last month due to Ustulina, would have been nice to leave them standing and just reduce them though.
  4. 25%? More like 90% reduction!
  5. That was brave leaving the washing line up or did you take it down, fell the tree and put it back up for the picture?
  6. Yea! I used to work with him at my previous firm, top bloke. Seen one picture and it looks sweeeet!
  7. Looks familier, did you buy it from another Tom in Bristol? I like the new mods, very nice.
  8. Welldone! I saw that job advert and it looks like a great opportunity! Good luck.
  9. Get the chain brake on before the hinge breaks and enjoy the ride
  10. Good thread. The toll box is nicely snuggled in place, will look really nice when finished.
  11. I wonder whether Horse Chestnut will be at the top of everyones list in a few years time.
  12. Yea, I don't know exactly but from what I've heard as well as the theory test and hazard perception you have to do a CPC case study that is 50 questions and a practical demonstration thats 30 minutes. Having just read back what I wrote it doesn't actually seem like it will be any harder, just a wee bit more expensive so I wouldn't worry.
  13. I've chosen to fund myself through cat C+E because I don't want to be tide down to the firm I currently work for, its expensive, but its an investment and will make me more desirable, thats the way I look at it. If your thinking of doing it get it done before 10th sept 2009 because its going to get harder and more expensive!
  14. I think the company I work for charges about 200 pound per person per day, we don't get much private work now, I wonder why...

    Wages

I know 15 plus tree surgeons in my area, some trainee, some competent climbers, all of which are around the 6.50 - 8.50 per hour mark. I remember before I started college I had the impression that its a well paid job, but until you find the right company that pays well and have enough experience you will struggle to earn a good wage. I can just about survive on my wage, but I do the job mainly because I love it.

    Wages

I earn about that and I've 3 and a half years climbing experience under my belt, I'm a good climber just can't find the right money.
  17. Hi. Honda CBR 600 FX 1999 £1500 MOT Jun 2010 Tax Oct 2009 44,300 Miles I have owned this bike for nearly 2 years and put over 20,000 miles on the clock, it has never let me down. Really reliable comfy sports bike with lots of service history. Since owning the bike I have replaced the oil and filter every 5000 miles, the chain and sprockets, cam chain tensioner, wheel bearings all round and overhauled the brakes. Front tyre 1000 miles from new Rear tyre 500 miles from new so plenty of life left in both. Please note that I replaced the hugger as it was cracked with a chain guard and I also have the original exhaust. Viewings and test rides welcome with insurance certificate and £1500 in my hands. Thanks, please call Sam 07515168715 I'm south of Bristol, between Weston-super-mare and Bristol.
  18. It was good to catch up with old work colleauges but bit dissapointing overall, by lunch time the only non alcoholic drink left was water but at £1.20 a bottle i decided to dehydrate. Managed to buy some spikes but could have probably got them cheaper on the net. Was hoping to look at some Bandit chippers but they weren't there. Thanks to all the organisers though, still a nice day.
  19. A lot of people say this but whenever I re reduce an acer there seems to be 3 or 4 inchs of dead from rounded off cuts before new shoots appear.
  20. I was the same (how naive of me) greenmech have made a brilliant machine which is why i voted for it. I've used all three machine models 2007 onwards and they are all brilliant however the build of the timberwolf looks cheap and tacky and the blades are a nightmare to get to, but still is a great chipper. It was very close between jensen and greenmech, but I think greenmech has the upper because I prefer the colour, thats how close it was.

    HGV c1+e

Thanks for replies I would have thought c+e would be far more expensive due to the size of the vehicle and extra training needed. Unfortunatly Topcat I can't do that as I obtained my licence after 1997 even if I pass cat C1 or C, I can still only tow 750kg max.

    HGV c1+e

I'm having troube finding a training school that does the hgv c1+e training in my area, Bristol. Basically I want to be able to drive a 7.5t truck and tow a chipper that weighs over 750kg so.... Does anyone know if I will be able to do the above if i just do a B+E trailer test and then take the C1 test?
  23. Hi. I'm taking my lgv theory test and would like to know wether the hazard perception part is the same as the one in the car and motorbike test? I know the questions will obviously be different. If so, does anyone have a hazard perception cd rom for sale?
  24. Nice idea with the tyres. I really like bandit chippers, theres just something about them.
