  1. Im getting me them new haix at abbeys looks the nuts you get what you pay for so i get told. I just thought they looked good good enough reason to buy em.
  2. Am i acceptable been doing this now errmm 10mins on the job lol.
  3. nptc is not worth the paper its printed on. We all learned cs30-31 the first week 38-39 the second week when we first started lol the years since are what makes you qualified not some piece of paper. The annoying thing is you dont actually need them for domestic work only some councils ask that you have them maybe if they were compulsory for every sector then they would be worth there money but anyone with a few quid can easily get qualified. I just herd the birds singing out side springs here let the good times roll love working in the spring summer.
  4. I got the velcro buckingham titaniums and there well comfy massive padding and the spikes proper dig in was looking at the carbons but i dont think they are as strong as titanium and the spikes are to soooo light. both good spikes but not so sure about composites right now.
  5. I like the cores with two connection either end. I want one that is the best its simple when i ask for any gear at the shop whats the best im only interested it top gear my lifes worth it. I know were all the same the best the money you have can buy. So common guys whats the best safest easy to use nice grab secure
  6. I climb the way which i like i dont care what any one else thinks i got up with 10 fingers 10 toes and thats how im coming down. We all at one point have maybe done things that when we look back think fcuk me that was dumb but its life. Always stick to what you believe is right unless its wrong lol:hmmmm2:
  7. Hucky bear i appreciate your view i wont fall out over some one telling me there views. We are all different i know every break streign of all my gear but im that kinda person i dont trust anything dont get me wrong i know they wont break but i just have that thought in my head when i climb the what ifs I guess the one sentance answer is there not fool proof. Oh and i tried to tow a car behind my transit new england rope and it snapped. PEC its not the height its the hitting the ground that scares the **** out of me lol.
  8. :top:I do agree with you dogeI know what your saying to we all dont stick to the book because the book is maybe not best for every climber we all have different styles so saying that one way is the best and the safest might not be for others.
  9. Hey i just think you read it wrong or maybe i put it down wrong. But ill never trust my ropes and that keeps me so aware of what im doing im in no false sense of security in a tree ropes can break and they do. My attitude keeps me analyzing every connection from me to the anchor things go wrong but as long as your prepared you have the best chance of getting out of danger. Say your on a limb relying on your rope and for what ever reason it goes if your not ready for that event you in trouble by not trusting my ropes it keeps me very aware. But this is just my method that works very well for me as i never taken a fall and will keep it that way See PEC new what i was saying. Silky in my teeth no no top handel silky in between my bum cheeks lol.
  10. My pretty face is worth more than any work which can harm me. If the job took longer and needed to be rushed well im sorry but its another day im not taking no risks. its when you least expect an accident that it happens. People do underprice jobs and rush them but if you willing to put your life and limbs in harms way for a cheap buck your welcome to it. My customers use me what ever price or time because they know my work is good there is no need to rush out stretch yourself ONLY A FOOL PUTS MONEY OVER THEM SELFS.
  11. Yes it is my man i hate contract crap so much hse and paper and horse shite. and you have to wait for your money. I love the domestic sector paid daily and you get appreciated. I do it for other companies tho they get me in so i just climb just the way i like it.
  12. i dont think you getting what im saying. you dont get a high anchor point untill you get up there so i dont get what your saying. I said i use more of the tree than my ropes to get to my anchor how do you do it im sure we dont all big shot every tree. ALT alternate lanyard technique im sure you know what it is put the ladder up put you rope on the tree climb the tree until the first obstruction put other line over obstruction disconnet first line and doing that all the way to your selected anchor point OF COURSE I USE A BLOODY ROPE :withstupid:lol
  13. Id rather keep under paying vat more hassell and it does put you 17.5 % more expensive than non vat guys so if there cheaper than you any way you really get an asse whooping. I choose to work few days a week im young and dont need loads of money between my work and the companys who sub me in weekly i have more than enough work but whats the point i have no house as they say just my cock to keep lol. Im sure as i get older more to your lots age it will change lol.
  14. ALT is 2 ropes so ones always connected once im at the top of course i use my rope my jet packs in repairs lol. Im talking about reaching your anchor point but even still ill always use what the tree has to make life easier. I have a petzl grillion and my main line for climbing but walking up the branches rather than trusting makes the day alot easier. Pop the ladder up jump on the trunk and off ya go.
  15. Nice tree i never used a crane had many oppertunitys but i preferr to climb about it. I guess might do one now since it does look fun and alot easier knocking off tonne pieces. like the vid we have some highly skilled people on here
  16. yank machienes are just to big end of we dont need 10 inch when 6 will do the same job if you plan your work well a 6 inch machine is a god send remember 2.5 tonnes an hour 6 inch chips thats the days work you wont be chipping it all in 30 mins any how. Myabe better for big jobs but we hire them in any way. for the english market we love our compact machines that one man can carry my machine weighs 570kg you need hgv to tow a yank and another one for the chips lol still they are mighty good machines.
  17. Ill never trust my ropes ill always use as much of the tree as i can its easy to climb the tree than use the rope to get up i just ALT from a ladder. Who knows what a good climber is the problem is we all think were the best and rarely compliment other climbers even when we think they done well. I know tickets dont even come into it common sense and timing and thinking are paramount period. So maybe a good climber knows what he/she is doing before they are doing it. I guess step back look and dont just bomb up smash it down. Every memeber of this site should be considered a better climber than those not because we have taken the time to look for it and input on it which shows a commitment to the job. We are the ones who take the time and want to find out what every one else thinks.
  18. my ones are tit anium i would be impressed if i could break it and also pissed off they aint cheap lol.
  19. Well guys if your happy earning some wedge keeping your customers happy to me your doing well. Its a tough buiz but fcuk me i would not do anything else We all judge others tree work and we ALL think we could do a better job lol. I think we shud all sitck together and help out the ones who dont know any better. sounds like im after missuk lol.
  20. Hey im in need of a wire core complete kit wire hook and grab can any one offr the best ones there reviews of what they use thanks.
  21. What im miles away from hitting vat im in my first year of trading and i love not working all the time i earn enough and cant imagine being able to earn that amount. Im looking forward to the day i break even lol.
  22. Any one who dont do this for the money is a complete fool. i would not be wearing my body out for fun. We all have to work so this was something i do enjoy but the money is the motivation the skill and quality is the personal pride. you can have all the tickets and laa dee daa in the world but if you dont have pride in your work you aint no good. I know many so called qualifieds who are butchers It pisses me off when i here only use a qualified climber im qualified but i started with out them my work did not become any better having them.
  23. 3 chains to one sprog. the bar i only change if showing excessive wear blueing cracking or just worn to much. This is a good rule as it keeps the engine under less stress using old chains and bars puts more stress on the engine. I only just replaced my first chain on my newest top handel its over a year old and the chain was still good. but i totally understand why guys use them to death they aint cheap.
  24. i got 6 inches ............... its been called many things but mainy timberfolf lol. there excellent machines look after them they will last as long as you will wanna keep em. i said it before schlipoops are to heavy and many are producing stress fractures there is too much of a good thing some times timberwolfs are just right.
