  1. HAHA trust me when i start cutting my groundies all disapear lol. What accidents have you had.
  2. I thought that but some times they are such a gem one guy can pull it out full and if you ever have them through the house trimming jobs there excellent. Althought i do like my wheel barrow im going to get the petrol one for logs haha.
  3. They are good and expected for the price. I dropped my one a few times and its been ok i will never use them stupid dog leash clips ever again always use krabs on either end of my strop.
  4. I have touch wood never had an accident no or broke any thing but a stupid knome I have had things not go the way i expect sometimes but never to the extent that any one gets hurt and things get broke. Which i pride myself in and hope to continue working without an accident since the first fall or close call id leave this industry no questions. My insurance did not require nptc and i stated exactly what i do i made sure they told me exactly what im covered to do.
  5. Use a small steel wire bend it to the inside of the tonne bag keeps in open tadaa.
  6. Well im taking my kite to work tommorow might help me get up the tree quicker. Shorts and tee shirt to. I love my country even the weather is miserable.
  7. Well my insurance states all aspects of tree felling any height i told them what i do they said im fully covered not alot more you can do. But id never cut when some one is near the tree any way thats just bad. I dont take risks ever when im cutting everyone stays out the way when i stop then they drag out the brush as for the public well coned off areas sort that out if they walk into a coned off area and get hurt tuff.
  8. Again NPTC is not a legal requirment only some commercial sectors ask for qualifications dont people know this. Learn how to cut a tree first then do your course or you could cock it up going straight in 4 days to learn hardly teaching competence imo. That takes on the job exp.
  9. Yep big yellow buckets and 1 tonne bags are good for small trimmings and crap

    big saws

    :dontknow:Yes mum.
  11. I look for willingness to work hard and skill experianced guys are cheaper and know what there doing. Had a few qualifed guys fresh and was not worth a tommy tank. Some are qualified to do the job but cant some are not qualified but know what there doing. Must work for some companys build up your skill then do your course not the other way round.
  12. Any mark1 hires might they do the 4 inch nappy ones. Where abouts are you.
  13. I love bumbing big lumps off but always hold my arse inplace to haha. Cranes are so cool make life so much easier for the climber can chunck more down less cutting. What prices are you paying to hire them out for the day.
  14. Orange plant hire out great company

    big saws

Only have a 20 inch bar biggest saw chaw my old mans 66-88 when there needed.
  16. Im not saying what i pay but its much lower than £1000 but i only have 2m PL as thats all i need. All the guys who i sub in have insurance to the same level as me which is fully legal. Dont need EL as long as the guys you sub have the same level of insurance as you do. Only need 5m if and when go council and commercial. Chipper separate insurance. Im really impressed with my commercial truck insurance tho.
  17. Yeah and a nice hefty price. TW offer better hire rates imo.
  18. I got three sycamores do take down tommoro whats the weather like not had chance to look. Am i going swimming or wind surfing lol.
  19. Poo weather just going to deliver some logs and thats it for today but i already cancelled todays job new it would be like this. Not to windy hear got a few windblown trees to sort out nothing major.
  20. work for as many different arb companys as you can i sub to around 10 and yu learn different stles and ways of working. Plus your earning.
  21. Done that before the helpless look as it hits the deck followed by WTF i swear i clipped it in lol.
  22. Dont know any. I fell large trees with out large fell. The problem is the goal posts are forever changing so how can we rely on the nptc since when they want more money the create new rules.
  23. Wont ever climb with out gloves again they are almost skint tight and help hold the saw when wet but mostly offer huge grip on the rope when ascending.
  24. Thats my point only the good ones survive because people want you for your quality im in the building a decent round stage but i made many good customers who wont use no one but me. So hard to advertise since so many people do it.
