  1. Thats horrendous i hope you makes lots of money. See being small at the mo so is my overheads when i get bigger have all that crap to look forward to.
  2. I like it nothing wrong with that not alot you can do to small trees other than reduction pollard.
  3. Hey guys we took this one off topic and down the road i did not even know what the thread was.
  4. Tens of thousands of pounds yeah maybe over many moons PL is not expensive at all trust quoted me 525 if had tickets i got better price and was not asked for my tickets. But hey we all do things different no ones right or wrong. but PL only gets expensive when you go into commerical work then you need 5mil pl 10ml epl
  5. I like it b1 i mean taking advice from some one called igottacabstar lol. Igottagopeepee. Im only kidding. So Agree tickets did not exsist 20 years ago or hse there is no proof accidents have lessened now at all. I think we should have proof of skill but apprentiships after three years on the job and assesment and bingo. Not some arse over tit tickets that teach you to sharpen a saw common i did that the first day what a croc of shite.
  6. You never know you could get lost going to the garden shed nowdays lol acutally your wrong again one of my requirments is i use bonifid sub contractors with liability no less than my own im fully covered so are they you should read things up first. I do go in depth with my insurance to make sure i cover all the angles any one who subs from me and break stuff is liable not me thats a stated fact. Oh you do not need EL by law they changed it when was the last time you looked. But i have it any way point being.
  7. Ben and Pete like the sense of humour guys. I love it when people say all bad work is carried out by unqualified tree suregons like there the anti crist. Like Pete when i work for the big guys they say just get it done so why do a great job when they want it done quick i earn because im quick on there jobs its not my job. Look at line clearance yee supa fcukin haaaa. There work is hilarious. :2gunsfiring_v1:
  8. No thats not true. Tickets are only required by some councils thats it and some insurance companys. Domestic work requires no tickets Its all grey just have to be competent but its the age old one how do you prove that well tickets are the easy way not the only way. The gps one made me laugh to haha surely you know where you are you drovd there.
  9. And bloody expensive they want to much lol. I preferr experianced guys there worth the money they get the job done all have the own liability. Ticketed guys only have tickets so if it goes tits up your footing the bill. You ideally want both but its not an ideal world and for small companys im not paying for some jumped up little **** with a ticket. haha
  10. Costly to take on people with no experiance i say to any one i get in can you do the job etc tickets or not and on the first day you know if there any good. Experianced people always work for me i had ticketed guys before and there askingme where to cut but they expect good money cos they have tickets. This insurance issue keeps popping up you dont need NPTC period some companys ask for them and ones like trust over charge. In my case if i had a claim i dont need to proove anything they accepted me and stated the conditions on my proposal as long as i take every reasonable safty measure which i do they are more than happy. And a partridge in a pear tree.
  11. He he that comment made me chuckle. I want a mini turbo charged version
  12. You do not need 30 31 to use a saw bloody hell you can get mr numpty from numpty street go into b&q and buy a saw no probs. If your doing some trees dont waste 700quid
  13. Thats good advice or ask a member if there near would they help you out.
  14. :wave:Hey stihl i think what guys try to say but are abit retarded sometimes only kidding fellas. Its hard to offer advice on doing something that could hurt you. All i would say is take your time if your not 100percent leave it. But if you feel up to the tasks it your choice just make sure someone is with you incase. Dont be put off just know the risks thing is you only learn most of the dangers by doing the job everyday.
  15. Im not taking personal pec just thought that you was implying it so i just said no this is how it is. Hey its a forum we all get it wrong. I did once fell a tree onto a knome but it got buried in the process result lol.
  16. Looking at a tree can kill you hahaha that really made me laugh. No there is snobbery with nptc some think they are better than thos with out it but they are not. But dont get me wrong some people are just idiots and nptc does filter thos out. Get experiance work for a company must get taught then do your ticket when you have learned the basics. Experiance is worth more than nptc when i was starting out and got good i got employed for my skill i was not qualified at first. Tom your right as long as the site is as it should be cones etc all safty possible in place you should be fine its only if its prooved you was negligent.
  17. looks like some one dragged a lawnmower over it id shoot myself if i did that. so funny i like this thread I know when we all started some of our work is not great but even my first reduction was a world apart from that. But its easy for us to critisize but hey guys we need shite work like that so ours looks good lol. Some people dont do it on purpose i rekon they get down and say top job is that hahahahah:wave: yokles hill billies and pikeys
  18. Again there you go asuming im not qualified. Asuming im not insured im fully insured to carry out any and all aspects of tree felling inc unlimited height i said they did not ask for my nptc and i asked why and was told there not required simple. I reads me small print all i cant do is burn on site.:wave: And i went to many insurers less than half asked for them only trust and another and the cheapest company was not bothered. Also i have had no claims ever. I think its odd but nptc is not a requirement by law i read hse and uk law alot all that comes up is that persons are competant or qualified but it does not state what type of qualification ????. grey area or what.
  19. what are you on about. So in effect you talking total turd.
  20. Your very right. Althought if you have a previous company you worked for i think thats acceptable as proof as long as they are qualified. I just think they should be more recognised and people should ask to see them but they just want cheap jobs which is a piss off when you spend all that money.
  21. your not wrong there but when i got my insurance was not asked for tickets which made me think waste of time they are. I would get proper taining with a company and would not be doing windblown unless id been taught can go wrong quickly.
