  1. Very very thick Cheese & Ham toasties
  2. Agreed Steve - Looking at that tree an its situ. I would have used high lifts and winch - much better than setting up a bottle jack.....
  3. Makes sense
  4. This is life - as a general rule the people with a lot of money and property / worldly goods - keep them!
  5. You're a proper tree bloke aren't you
  6. Go for it Ben
  7. No - I know what it is but have never seen it done - I would also be interested if anyone has done it? Treemotion - It is the training of trees into a sort of aerial hedge
  8. Definition follows :-) An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.[2]
  9. I've just checked the 357's manual and I stand corrected Bob - it does say 1:1 ratio; I'm amazed! I'll check the Stihl manuals in the morning however my 'technical french' is not the best.
  10. Bob - my husky instruction book says 2-3 chains as does the Stihl manuals that I have. The wear quoted on sprockets for one of my stihl saws is 0.4mm
  11. I have metal ones - bulky but they stay where they are put, and people are less inclined to nick them
  12. My climbing irons (Buckingham Titanium) are strapped and I haven't had a problem with them ( I really have them tight as well )
  13. Yeh - how was your first day?
  14. The Husqvarna ratio seems a little excessive to me!
  15. Nice Reduction on a great example
  16. I'll be at the AA in Cirencester
  17. Windblown - If I were you I would leave well alone! You need considerable experience to deal with them effectively. Dont take the risk! To deal with windblown (CS34) you need to complete the following units CS30, CS31 & CS32 - You must have these tickets before you can do the training or NPTC Assessment for CS34.
  18. Having read through the last four pages I would like to say the following :-) # 1 - Most customers haven't got a clue about trees - you do have to educate them, but only in the simplest terms. # 2 - You should trust your climbing kit - Its all we have (except for MEWPS) # 3 - I'm with Ed, punctuation is important.
  19. Pecontools and skyhuck - spot on!
  20. I think they've gone a bit far with 'the crumple zone idea'!
  21. This is the link to the list of dealers on the DMM website - hope it helps! http://www.dmmclimbing.com/dealers.asp?id=2&page=Dealers
  22. Adam as 18 Stoner says " dont buy one instead of a 200, get one as well as a 200! A saw for every job!"
  23. Nice one Ed! LOL !!!
  24. Nice work Steve ! I think mewp was the only way to go on this one looking at the split
  25. Well Done matey!
