  1. Well done Tuppy! Onwards & upwards ?? (38&9)??
  2. Had athink about it whilst out walking the dog. Try 'Corwen Forestry' - a bit closer than 'Proclimber' in Carmarthenshire I think Ian (Link Below) http://www.corwenforestry.co.uk/
  3. Ian - Check out this website address - http://www.walesindex.co.uk/pages/939.html
  4. Thats gotta hurt MB - was it your leg?
  5. I went for mundane white. I might go for a different colour when changing
  6. Force of habit Steve - I have always done it. -As you say, you can spot it by the shiny surface
  7. Congratulations John ! - Another string to your bow
  8. Ditto Nod - I'll keep my ear to the ground too
  9. Happy Birthday Steve - How many years young ?
  10. Not with some customers ! But like the idea - you could then just point (they'd probably say "Yes, nice chipper"
  11. Bob - you and I should form the ' Arbtalk Tea Appreciation Society' - I love my tea too!!!
  12. Debate is good Jim! In my opinion to get through you test you dont need a wirecore flipline - but you will need one in the future. (Your assessor may ask about their use though) Its as with all things - 'you pays your money, you takes your choice'
  13. This will start a debate My choice would be 5m, not, prusik.
  14. Classic examples of a delicate pruning operation I see Jim
  15. I dont think you need to spend any more money on kit now. Read your assessment criteria before you attend the course. (It will help you immensly when you come to take your test) - it will also save you and the assessor time if you do
  16. Good luck John - read that assessment criteria
  17. Jim -this is good advice. Webbing slings are cheap and last an age (and come in very handy) Try to get a couple of 120cm ones and a really short one for your casualty rescue (it'll hold them closer to you and give you loads more control)
  18. My Trust policy has no height restrictions
  19. 25m, 35m & 45m - I hate reorganising more rope than I have to!
  20. Yeh! I'll go with that Matty - I like holm oaks too

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
