  1. I agree with Mr Ed - TW250 Appearances are deceptive though on hours I would guess around 280 - 300 hours - I believe you look after your chipper!
  2. My favourite for many years is " Its like trying to herd cats "
  3. Tim - Welcome! The Level 2 cert arb is a very good place to start. I would also consolidate your current practical experience by completing the CS30 NPTC Ticket and maybe the CS38 if you can afford to do both at present (with a little one on the horizon)?? This will mean that you can support a climber and do the ground work. Your rock climbing experience will also stand you in good stead if you go for the CS38 Ticket. I hope this is of help!

  7. ianuk - I have done a bit of searching around for you and I have found the link to the book I mentioned http://www.englishnature.org.uk/pubs/handbooks/upland.asp?id=6
  8. Ianuk - There is a book available by English Nature that is called ' Veteran Trees : A guide to good management' : this will show examples of, and explain the methodology around coronet cuts, and the reasons why. I hope that this is of help to you.
  9. I've got a set of Binatone Terrain 550's - 8km range - and yes I have tested them 'and this range is accurate' even in amongst the big stuff in forests
  10. Husky on the ground! - Stihl in the air!
  11. I use 15" .325 or 18" .325 - cuts like a dream and less drag as Bob said!
  12. When you are filing remember to put the chain-brake on - it will give you the stability to create a great edge to each cutter.
  13. I asked a number to quote for my needs and Trust were the cheapest and the most efficient - with no height limits, and free professional indemnity insurance up to £500k (as long as you didnt charge for consultancy)
  14. Five Euros an hour - I nearly swallowed my throw bag
  15. There must be easier ways to illegally hook your house up to the lekkie supply!
  16. Great vid! Nice to see craftsmen at work!
  17. Summer - T shirt Winter - Windstopper + Microfleece (or two microfleeces if it gets on the nippy side)
