Sarking may be a Scottish thing because you get more of a battering from the weather than we do, but it is rare here. I built my garage and used sarking but you only see it on posh houses here. I was on about under the eaves, theres normally a small amount of sarking sealing it off, but the lats go straight out no boarding under them

I dont know Robert, I thought it strange when I stripped the slates off. You look up from down below and the lats and soakers can be seen under the soffits, strange?? Every roof on that row of houses is different.

Cheers Bob, I'll look next time Steve.. one of the problems, especailly with mine is that when you raise the front end to unhitch, all the weight transfers forward because you are picking up the front axle, the further apart the axles are spaced the worse it is. This is especailly bad because of how much the landrover raises for little weight on the top part of the springs travel. if the landy is half loaded it stays put and you only have to lift a couple of inch. The trailer can sit perfectly level unhitched with very little nose weight, but start picking up that front end and the front axle ............... I think I'll put the eye back on instead of ball hitch, then theres no lifting up to do.

Todays Job....and tomorrows and the day after...... My daughters moving into this house which had a loft which you didn't need to switch a light on to see there was that much daylight coming in. He was asking my future son in law to "make sure they do it right wont you ? It's more because I go through jockey wheels because the thread goes in them because of all the winding up and down getting it off the hitch. One solution might be just to put the eye back on instead of the ball hitch. No winding up and down ? Sent from my iPhone cos it was

cheers Stevie ! They are Expensive Robert but it has never broke down and I,ve had it about 14 years. That has been my intention for about 3 years but have never got round to it, I normally put a couple of blocks of wood under the chassis rails as Sandy has said below mainly to prevent it setting off down the drive when loading but like you say, it takes all the stress off the chassis. One other thing I intend to make up when I get the time is an hydraulic jockey wheel that will cope with 3 ton, I did a search and found some piddley little thing for caravans but nothing heavy duty. If I made one of them I could also incorporate two little hydraulic prop stands for the back

This is how i spent my weekend This is the trailer I used to transport my Mewp. The mewp weighs 2.9t and because there is so much overhang behind the rear axle, the leverage normally lifts the land rover back end right off the floor when tracking the mewp on using the ramps. It even lifted the Landcruiser Amazons back end up. When I used it the other day I tracked it on but the trailer was not level, resulting in most of the weight being on just one of the two big girders that run the length of the trailer. The girder gave way and bent down. I thought the trailer may be a right off and was going to buy a new one. So instead, I got my angle grinder out and set to, taking the opportunity whilst repairing the trailer to shorten it and reduce the leverage effect. I cut the chassis rail to relieve the stresses and straighten it up then filled in the gap with weld and added a 10mm plate for strength More images to follow, tapatalk says no

I really am ashamed to be British, at the moment England is full of lard arsed, lazy, whining layabouts that think they deserve all the best in life without putting in the effort. A job I worked on recently was for husband and wife teachers, she was a lard arse and was complaining how stressed and over worked she was. I spent three days there knocking my pan in, trying my hardest not to damage a single flower or dent her pristine lawn at her half million pound country home. She told me she was going on holiday and was finding it hard getting ready. She was there there the whole three days and never made a cup of tea for us. She went on holiday the day after we finished And is not back yet, that was nearly five weeks ago I have had around two weeks off in twelve months and still answered calls whilst off. I probably earn less than a quarter of what they earn and do twice as many hours. I took down a small red oak for her, she asked me to chop it into firewood, I explained that would be a shame and offered to mill it free of charge into a beautiful garden bench so it wasn't,t wasted. I can bet a pound to a penny that she doesn't even ring me to thank me The majority of British are fat, lazy good for nothing's who think everything should be handed to them on a plate and most of them are over paid public sector workers. There are public sector workers that are genuinely hard working grafters that are paid less than they deserve, but they are the ones that actually get dirt under their finger nails. I,ve worked with the council boys on the tree team and they are proper grafters and pound for pound are work ten times more than the example above Phew..... Shutter speed is always slower at night unless the scene is well lit, so movement will appear blurred, just look how clear the reg plate is
