  1. I did think of purging with propane and igniting but that's illegal
  2. If they are voles Charlie, they are only utilising the mole runs, Getting shut of the moles is the main thing Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  3. I want rid because it's a lawn, it's on a clayish soil and I want as many worms as possible. I don't mind the odd one but this is an infestation. It isn't helping with drainage as you may think and the ground collapses under your feet. I mow it once a fortnight and have to plough the mower through mound after mound. I'll have a go with some traps to see what they turn up. Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  4. At my yard there's a large grasses area of about half acre and surrounding it is another half acre of woodland. For some time there's been a mole problem, mounds appearing all over the place. I mowed the grass last week and was shocked to find just how many holes there are. There is not a square foot of ground without a hole somewhere on it, but the holes look like they have been taken over by field mice ?? There is an abundance of food in the form of hazel. I need a drastic way of bringing them under control as I don't think the traditional mole traps are going to make much headway. Anyone got any solutions ? Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  5. I started the thread because I feel that soldiers such as Jack Jennings are so often forgotten as time passes and whilst I was watching the ad the victim of the mugging I stopped to help recently was of jacks age and probably fought in the same wars and saw the same horrors, trying to defend his country to give the little shites that robbed him for heroin money a life. The thread http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/2995-mugged-really.html These war veterans are the joe blogs type of oaps you see at bus stops or in bus stations waiting for transport, being intimidated and disrespected by these thugs Certainly makes me think
  6. He a follower mike...otherwise he wouldn't have picked up the rubbish
  7. Very sad news, such a waste of a young life
  8. I try not to stereo type Mike, I,m on about the guys that actually do commit these crimes and think nothing of it. I can't believe the coincidence, but I have just been down to my yard which as a lot of you know is within a scout camp area at the side of their "out" road. I noticed an Audi parked up at the end of my fence line, we have been having a lot of problems with dogging couples and drug taking so I drove down to look. As I got near I saw there was all the packaging from a Kentucky meal thrown at either side of the car, so I pulled along side. Inside was an Asian guy and an Asian woman, I won't go into detail at what they were doing. I papped the horn and pointed at the rubbish and told him to pick it up (bear in mind this is a kids area) he gestured for me to f off, so I papped my horn again and pointed at the rubbish and told him to pick it up. He opened his door, got out pointed his hand at my face in a pistol gesture and thumbed the hammer action, then he bent down and picked up the rubbish. So, apparently I,m a dead man but he,ll pick up the rubbish ? I just shook my head, smiled and drove on. Unreal
  9. We was brought up by my mother on the roughest council estate in halifax. My father used to beat the shite out of her when he came in pished every night, I as a small child used to witness this and try to stop him. He abused my sister. My mother remarried and this one took a liking to beating the shite out of me and my brother any time he felt the need. We used to go to the butchers and ask for roll ends and bones for the dog and make soup and stew for us with them. We very rarely got Xmas presents She made ends meet in whatever way she could. We were poor, under nourished and wore second hand clothes and shoes. None of my brothers or my sister have ever beat anyone up, we have never robbed anyone nor stole from anyone or disrespected my elders. I got 3 month in an army prison for standing up to what I thought was wrong. I got sentenced to 9 month in a civilian prison because I stopped police officers beating up an innocent person. I,ve seen about as much and experience the worst things that can be thrown at someone but all that did is make the distance between wrong and right much wider. I would stand by the side of someone and defend them with whatever it takes. Why is this? Why am I nor my siblings thieves or bullies? I,ve been there done that and got the t shirt. People choose their own path on life It has nothing to do with the social system or how they have been neglected by the social system. Some people who make policies and make remarks, simply have no idea and have led a very sheltered life. I can guarantee there will be arbtalk members on here that have had twice as rough an upbringing as me that have not chose the wrong path in life. My original point is, it doesn't matter what era we are from, the fact is, gun crime, knife crime and gangs are becoming so frequent it is worrying and the fact that these kids value someone's life no more than a badge of honour is even more sickening. What I find even more sickening is people trying to justify it Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  10. I don't do cryptic mate. Spit it out if you,ve something to say. Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  11. A strike will cost jobs, ruin business's and some will lose everything including their house. This is not a time to strike, threatening it may get the result they want hopefully, but to carry it out will be devastating to some
  12. Rubbishing people's opinions is a tremendous help stevie boy
  13. The kids I refered to in the original post are the type that carry weapons, mug people, intimidate people and harass old folks. Kids that think they have to stab someone or shoot someone to be respected. The kids I,m talking about are like the ones that robbed the foreign student that desperately needed help after his jaw was broken in the London riots, instead he was robbed. These kids are scum, no other word for it For some reason people think we,re on about all kids.....we,re not.
  14. What about nurses don't they work all hours, bank holidays, unsociable hours, Xmas day, new years day etc etc with no increments. Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  15. Well said Mark Lee, there were 3 million unemployed "in my day" and we didn't have computers or electronic gadgets to keep us occupied, ffs colour tv had just been invented What about the prat in the us that shot those two English students just for the thrill, despite them begging him not to kill them, he was 16 Back in "my day syndrome" my backside Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  16. Been working in an area of Hudderfield plagued by boy gangs, riding about on their little bmx bikes wearing shoulder satchels or bandanas for whichever "gang" they belong to. I,d say average age of around 15. I haven,t led a sheltered life myself but one thing I do have is a deep respect for those that deserve it. This man below and all who fought with him were "hard" All those that are currently fighting in wars they don't fully understand are "hard" The little shites that roam the streets at night in large groups carrying weapons and intimidating people are "cowards" The latest national lottery ad for "private Jack Jennings" is a moving account and snippet of what they went through. 17. Unite should be held to account for this. Unions also should not be able to donate to the government
  18. Every petrol station in the district have been inundated all day with panic buyers. In another day or so the stations will be deserted because everyone has filled up. Just reinforces my views that humans are selfish and greedy scum
  19. But not hold people clinging onto their business to ransom
  20. It's called a spiral ladder reduction Sent from my iPhone cos it was
  21. Was the zip line for coming down for your brews Tom
  22. I'm going to have a look at Bobs chipper to see what the contraption is he has got, but screw jacks would be better than the crappy jockey wheels if not. The jockey wheels aren't bending, it's always the thread that goes in them or the bearing in the top shatters and I always strip them down from new and grease the whole thread and bearing properly.
  23. Haa...nice one. I only did it on my workshop / garage to prevent burgulars because they did exactly as Robert said on my old workshop, they removed 4 slates and cut the felt and relieved me of 20 brand new dewalt 18v Combi drills.
