  1. Our lass ask me to do things whereas I tell her to do things Whether she listens to me or does as I say is a different matter. I did wake up with a black eye the other week coincidently
  2. It won't make sense to you if you are lacking a little intelligence
  3. Our lass works at the hospital, pm your details and I'll stick em on the back of the truck next time I pass
  4. I,ve got to get shut of some of the crap outside, clearing these might help. Amazing how much chain oil you go through
  5. It's sheltered on the backside of a woodland
  6. Finally got round to weighing it of to compare before and after weights Old chip back empty weight 2600 kg New chip back 2380 kg So gained nearly quarter of a ton payload, only thing is the ride when empty is a little more bumpy because the back is sat up a lot
  7. This is regrowth from a stump, 60ft stems, included unions, crossing rubbing stems and permission refused to fell because of its amenity value
  8. Haha that Stevie Blair bother causing again . Bully is a little strong I'd say. Undiluted opinions maybe ?
  9. Last two jobs I did I asked what the other quotes were and bot said I was the dearest, they chose me because I came across the best. I personally think it was because I,m so handsome One of the biggest mistakes business owners make when they are quiet is to underprice jobs for fear of not getting them. Be brave and explain exactly what work you will carry out and to what spec, if they do try to barter you down just say you can do it cheer but it may be rushed, you would rather price to do the job correctly without risk to their flower beds, fence panels and lawn.
  10. The partical is the crucial element for atoms to stick together and attain mass, I'd just use superglue
  11. That's you watching passing aircraft, where's the lunge ? (-:
  12. Cant be much money to be made out of that job ? What does your tractor cost per hour to run inc depreciation, and insurance what does your flail cost per hour, purchase cost plus servicing costs divided by life expectancy in hours. I worked my chipper out that after 4/5 years of ownership, my chipper has so far cost me £1 per minute / £60 per hour to run
  13. Si, I have no doubt in Mr Walkers abilities to get the tree down without damage to property, he has a vast amount of experience My sarcasm was at your comment about expecting a week for £340, whether meant in jest or not we, as tree surgeons are always moaning about people undervaluing us, don't let's start doing it ourselves. Sorry if I came across wrong
  14. Looks like very wet boggy ground, mind the Hogweed at the base of the tree
  15. Put new anvils in as well while you have it apart, rounded anvils and dull blades will cause blockages when chipping that stuff
  16. How sharp were the blades
  17. To Sheffield with owner operator with a tracked 18m and a groundy I would be charging you £595 If you think Supplying £50k - £60k worth of kit for £340 is dear then you need to dust off your harness
  18. Oh good, that's the line I,ve been using.
  19. What part is it in the window that you line up with the lines
  20. Nothing whatsoever to do with council bashing Matt, negligence is negligence whoever you are and some of the street trees i come across have blatant health issues and have never been inspected, many have even been reported and ignored I really do hate with a vengeance the no win no fee culture but there is definitely blame sometimes Some councils definitely need a kick up the backside
  21. All well and good, but the tree in my previous post that fell on a car was cleaned up, stump ground and all evidence got shut off the day after. A consultant can't assess thin air
  22. I have reported many street trees to my local council. Many are blatantly obvious they are in decline with fruiting body's, crown die back, hanging branches etc etc. There was one particular one that I reported and they ignored, it fell over and crushed a car 12 months later, another, on the same street is still there, two years after I reported it? Many of the street trees I see that are in severe decline are due to Strimmer mower damage. The tree that fell I front of me last this winter had a very large wound caused by a lorry. Most of these can and would be seen from a car just driving slowly past. Do some councils no bother at all inspecting their trees or do they just rely on people reporting problems to them? I personally would ask to see their records of the last time the tree was inspected
