  1. Thing is, they'll think they're sitting on a fortune what with fuel prices as they are.
  2. I do. When spiking up skinny stems I wrap the wire strop round again, no slippy slippy Butch.
  3. I'd ask seller a question asking if they got a cheap job done but I'm too close. Only a few miles from Pete McSheff, not one of yours Pete ?
  4. I was close enough to hear and see exactly what was being said and done. The cops had pulled over these lads for sounding their horn and then accused them of nicking bikes because they had an old rusty bike frame in the back of the truck, when they asked the lads to get out of the truck they then dragged them onto the floor and then rammed one of thems head into the side of the truck as he was getting up. I honestly couldn't believe what I was witnessing and our lass (god bless her) was with me again. It only happens to us
  5. I'll do that Andy, i think they'll still need to do one unless the "no comment" one breaks and admits his involvement. I did get a side profile look at him but as you say, you then doubt the image you have in your head.
  6. I bought our lass a double glazed hardwood window for the living room for our first anniversary.
  7. Id parade has been postponed. One of the lads arrested has actually admitted being at the scene at the time. The police are now consulting with the CPS Old boy is still in hospital, no serious injuries just bumps and bruises, they are keeping him in more for observation of his state of mind. Here's hoping for a result.
  8. The washing machine is in for a hard time with those. Would have to be washed every other day
  9. Thats my understanding or interpretation. Ie: Storm damage or huge hanger, split branches overhanging targets.
  10. He did say forensics are pulling all the stops out to try and get something.
  11. police have just phoned me to ask if I'd do an ID parade. If I can pick them out they will be remanded in custody, I doubt I can. Asked him if there were any other witnesses, he said no, just you and your wife. See how I get on tonight
  12. Thanks for the support chaps. I've just learned this morning the chap was 92. The two lads in custody have a good chance of getting away with it because of lack of witnesses. All it takes is for someone to stop, and say, I saw what went on and give a staement. But people obviously have more important things to do. Perhaps when it's in the papers tonight people may realise how serious the commotion was and come forward. ...and restore my faith in human nature Like has been said earlier, it is built into some people. We may say we wont go into help someone but with me especailly, I don't seem to have a choice, it's not my decision it's my instinct making the choice.
  13. I know what your saying steve but at the time it was so obvious, the guy was realy frail and the sad thing is he had just got to the hospital bus shelter after visiting his sick wife. We asked if there was anyone we could phone for him and all he could say was don't tell my wife, please don't tell my wife.
  14. I've asked the police if it would be possible to have the old boys address to visit him to try to reassure him muggings are infact rare. Thats if the old boy survives the attack, the shock and trauma can have a delayed effect in someone his age, that's why the police are preparing the case very well and taking swabs etc. He may also just give up and lose the will to live in such a society. I'm going to try to visit him in a few weeks time
  15. I must admit, not often used but I have found them useful
  16. Something you don't think about at the time Lee. I was ready for running them over, so frustrating when your not driving. The police actually suggested that reasonable force could be used and under the circumstance and because it was a serious crime, tupping them with the car would have been seen as acceptable. However, reversing back over would be taking it a bit far
  17. The get together is this Sat 16th people will start arriving around 10 to 10.30am. We'll have some grub and hot drinks etc. Hoping to put on throwbag techniques demo, footlocking demo and single rope technique demo. There'll be some rope setup so people who want to can play with some gadgets etc. Just a nice informal day. It's down in my wood at Bradley, if you go down shepherds thorn lane as if you are going into the Scout camp you can't miss us. Be good if you can make it.
  18. I think it was either a 12 or 15m you had which aren't too bad to operate but when you get onto the 18m you would have to spend a day at least for the first time user to familiarise they are so complex Glad to hear it worked out for you though. Your welcome to the get together BTW even if it's just to catch up on the latest gadgets and see them being used
  19. What firm was it, for future reference, one in sowerby bridge.
  20. Yes that's it pete, I was there for about half hour after. I think they got the dogs in to track them. But they had the place swarming in just a few minutes
  21. Yes that's the one. Easy done mate, I only heard of peter at the farm. When I first got mine I had a very close call, luckily I had the legs out because I was moving it along a few yards and I couldn't believe how easily it went over sideways. How did you go on damage wise, I heard it was very little
  22. Daught phoned me about 4.45 telling me her car tyre has blown out can I come out and change it for her. So our lass drove because I was in my work gear and on the way saw two youths mugging an old gent in a bus shelter, I had to analyse the situation because at first I couldn't beleive what I was seeing. As we drew level with the bus shelter the two hoddies ran off running along side the car, leaving the old guy injured in the bus shelter, I could see he had taken a nasty fall after being man handled by these two. If I'd been driving I would have mounted the pavement and ran them over. I was screaming at our lass with the door half open trying to get out at 20 mph to break these twos legs. She obviously hadn't fully witnessed it and could slam on because of heavy traffic behind. I was literally 8ft away from these two and couldn't get my hands on them. They darted off down an alley and we managed to stop 30 yards farther on. I ordered our lass to spin the car round and go back to the old man, I jumped out and ran back. The two lads were long gone so I carried on running back to the old gent who was then with another young lad who had come to the bus stop. This young lad thought he was being setup by some tv program, this old gent tells him he has been mugged, our lass screams to a halt in a big 4x4 with nurses uniform on and I come running up. It turned out the youths had demanded money off the guy and tried to grab his bag, the old guy had just visited his elderly wife who was poorly in hospital for some R and R. He had injured his back and hand and was in shock, luckily he didn't hurt his head because he had a thich tweed hat on. Police duely arrive and cordened off the area for socco in case the old boy take a turn for the worst and me and our lass have spent three hours giving our account. They have arrested two and are holding them in custody, hopefully they can get some DNA off them because our description of them was vaige, we only saw the back of them. Hopefully the scrotes will do time. The old chap was in his late seventies or eighties, I'm hoping the shock doesn't make him any worse. What really really greives me is that not one f@@ing car stopped. There was loads of cars infront and behind us and going in the opposite direction on a bright sunny day. They all must have seen it but no pilchard stopped, not even to describe the two lads. I am one of those people that acts then thinks, it has got me into trouble sometimes. But IMO for the right reasons, I think of the dangers after and will put myself in danger to help others, I personally would have tackled these two with whatever force neccessary to take them down. But others only had to stop to give witness statements and no-one did. Are there that few of us about ?? Is todays society so selfish ?? It really does make me feel so sad I could cry that no-one was willing to stop
  23. I'm going to look into getting the basket repaired and straightened and just as you say the pin holes bushed. Everytime I set myself time to do it something else comes up. Never have time for anything just lately, if I'm not working, I'm pricing, not pricing servicing, not servicing, doing jobs on the house. The last month I've worked 13 hour days seven days a week it a night mare and to top it all I've just spent three hours at the cop shop giving statements after witnessing a mugging and thats on my way to change the tyre for my daughter after a blowout. I'll explain on another thread
  24. Nice springer Just looks like the mother of one of mine. Holly, the left hand one
