  1. Looks like the line clearance boys need calling in. When it gets wet it will keep shorting out
  2. Just so we know what the thread is about
  3. Yes that too, always like doing logs first thing
  4. Haaaa, I have the same problem but its with them coming in late from night clubs etc. I was out on the canal with dogs and bike at 5.30 Think I'll do some logs then have a kip later
  5. There's only so much you can do with a torn canvass Tom, looks good mate
  6. No disrespect to Treeworkerthey only sell their markup above wholesale but the price of that for what it is is vulgar. It should be about half that price, there isn't that much to it, materials or manufacturing wise and the quality isn't that stunning from what I've seen. I can see £55 in it but would never in a million pay £95 I'd just buy a decent wheel barrow or make my groundy do two trips
  7. Should you not be in bed still ??
  8. Great minds Dave...or maybe perverted minds ??
  9. Ok so I was wrong, the drummer didnt win
  10. Gone quiet all of a sudden......... Watching Britains got Talent Final are you you saddo's...... So what channel is it on ?
  11. I really should have taken photos of the walls up the lane, this one is totally out of place, if you are going to rebuild a drystone wall build it the same as the surrounding walls. It would be "ok" for a garden wall matty, but it has what we call "jumpers" in, the big stone stood on end, all jumpers do is speed the building process up for lazy wallers and introduce weak points and straight joints. Aside from that when you see the wall in the flesh the courses are all over the place, so much so they look rediculous, to be fair it doesn't look as bad in a picture, Tommer will notice it because I know Tommers standards of workmanship
  12. Sorry it's been so long but heres the crap wall. The photo makes it look better than it is .
  13. These are cheaper Amazon.co.uk: folding wheelbarrow
  14. Cutting are doing well There is vigerous new growth starting on most of the cutting now after 2 and a bit months, I'd say 80 out of 100 are definately rooted now and growing the other 20 (which I didnt use rooting compound and stuck in 3 year old mulch ) are taking root but are well behind, I may lose one or two but all are still green but not showing new buds Chuffed, saved myself a fortune in the long run, just need to take another 5 or 600 cuttings back end for planting spring next year and we should be something like
  15. I was watching Finches of all makes and models going mad on the dandilion seeds in a meadow similar to katies pic last year, they love them
  16. Nice one Tony AT has been invaluable to me too, I have been going through a rough patch myself and would have probably given up at some point and done something else but have been spurred on. The fact that you can "share" with your online buddies is a massive factor its an outlet. You can only share with like minded individuals, your mother or wife will listen but not understand. I think the key to being successful in Arb is to keep your overheads manageable for the kind of work you get in. In other words if you are only doing domestic, you need minimal overheads, you dont need 6 MS88's a 30 ton crane and 20" chipper. I know I dont praise enough ( its girly) but I genuinely have a lot of respect for you Tony and admire your commitment to learning and advancing your knowledge base, your a valuable Arbtalk resource and a thoroughly decent guy:thumbup: There....I've said it... dont think I fancy you or anything and dont expect any more praise in future
  17. Got the details off someone David, chuffed now its spot on what I wanted
  18. Haa, good advice Giles. The area is not in shade because the trees will only be young. I may have to plant meadow till they get established. I have no photos but it is where any big wigs park if they come to visit, and there is a 5ft brick wall running the full length which provides a bit of shelter and acts as a heat sink.
  19. Exactly like that David. Short and stubby, thats what I want I will visit that shop staurday Ed
  20. After trying to ring up a very large tree made from 6" nails this week, I've decided to buy the metal detector I have been supposedly buying for the last 5 years. It has cost me a fortune in chains this week and in the end I have had to leave the stem on site. I dont want one of them wands, I am after a short squat type detector sort of a mini version of a full size one. Does anyone know if they do such a thing? I'm after something that will detect to abouyt 12" if poss BTW I have used up my yearly allowance of swear words this week
  21. It is absolutely full of cr@p Tony, ivy and there was even a bit of Jap knotweed which I think I have sorted, it really does need cleansing, honest
  22. Tying your lass to the bed doesn't count mate
