    Plane trees

Hairs on the underside of the leaves are the problem. They form clouds when you chip them, which then irritate

    Plane trees

Wait until winter. (never guess I work for a LA:blushing:)
  3. Our highways dept. got one for the contractors doing the access roads into the Ryder Cup a few months ago.
  4. Treeflex, don't like it.
  5. He's not any more, finished that job about 5 weeks ago. He's back to running his own firm now.
  6. Typical, first I've heard of it. Only work for Newport council.....
  7. To be fair to James, he's not really council. He works part time as the T/O and runs his own firm as well, so he should have a fair idea about pricing.
  8. That would explain it then.
  9. Odd, not heard any thing from any body round here. Yep, James would be our tree officer.
  10. Think it's some lot from Cwmbran but not to sure on it Our tree officer was getting all excited about it.
  11. Been considering this since my old man chopped his leg off in a combine back in September. Situations can change very fast. Can anybody recommend a good company or two?
  12. Holme Lacy was the cheapest place I could find to do the coarses, but probably to far to go To get Ben Daniels to run a coarse you'd need to find a few others to do it with. He's based between Newport and Pontypool. Can get his number if you want it. Personally I've found Usk college to be a complete waste of time.
  13. Bugger. Wish I'd thought of this, been trying to get some decent rope for my unit for a while.
  14. £641??? Paid £410 last year for mine and thought that was steep.
  15. How well do you know the tree officer? Does seem to help.

    Class 3 PPe?

Yes, with hind sight more than likely, it seemed very odd to us at the time, although one of the blokes in there was sure he'd heard of a company that made them - but then again I wouldn't work for him so wouldn't trust him.
  19. I was in the local saw shop a few weeks ago and somebody phoned up asking for class 3 trousers (28m/s). Anybody know if any manufactures make them or more to the point does (or would) anybody bother with them? I'd have thought they'd be far to heavy to work in.
  20. Odd isn't it, must be coincidence
  21. Nasty. At least the gardeners do that with us. They like it, can only be done on a Sunday apparently.
  22. We had to do that last week. Why do LA's think that putting up trees is a job for its tree surgeons? Gardeners plant things, we cut them down.
  23. Yes, please
  24. We're very fortunate in that respect. 4 man team, all with first aid at work. Only problem with it is the 3 year gap, how much do you remember even 6 months after the course?
