  1. No, cider called. But I did put up a load of the tents on Saturday morning, starting at 07:30 for the local scouts (who get a reasonable amount of cash for lending the kit to the steam rally) with the promise of bacon sandwiches that never appeared!
  2. Not in sunny Abergavenny by any chance? Gave that a miss and went to the Cider Festival up the road. Wet, but I really wasn't in a state to care
  3. Read Band of Brother on holiday, a very well researched book. I've got to have something to read or else I start to get a bit odd(er). As long as it's not to do with a young boy in school with a magic stick or an autobiography by some celeb tw*t I'll read it, including to my surprise anthropology text books by mistake, good read though: "Guns Germs and Steel" by Jared Diamond explains the development of man in general and why some area grew/ developed faster than others i.e why the Spanish were able to conquer S.America and not the other way around.
  4. What? That nasty, I thought I was paying to much
  5. Fair play sound like your district is far better organised that ours! we don't have anything as good as a district team, we've got a DESC but he's a fat useless tw*t. We've only just started to organise 3 units in the district At the mo I'm one of two ESL in the district and the others my assistant. But we've only got a total of around 30-40 explorers on paper of which I see a dozen-ish
  6. Just watched it, interesting but not as good as I though it was going to be especially with the first scenes showing the guy doing some interesting climbing - then not much more
  7. L.P.G is around 50p per l. I'm paying 51.9 at the mo.
  8. One? How many do you run? I've only got one although its supposed to cover half the county and that enough for me.
  9. Thanks for that, solves that mystery.
  10. Looking at a few job descriptions recently and they're asking for CS36. Had a look on the NPTC site and theres nothing about a 36. Anybody got any ideas what it is?
  11. Did mine back in January. Pretty much the same except we didn't do any questions until we'd done the practical side. And also no sign of a pole rescue even been considered. Done in a morning with time to get to the pub for lunch. Looking at it like the driving test, you know what to do just need to learn to do it in the real world.
  12. Just had a look at Pershore's and Holme Lacys site's and your right nothing on Pershore, but Holme Lacy are still listing courses: http://www.hct.ac.uk/courses/pt_forest.html Hope that's of some use.
  13. Err, I've just done aerial rescue at Holme Lacy (as in; did the assessment on Monday). Know for a fact that the bloke that did the coarse is booked to do more this year. Holme Lacy and Pershore have split but I don't think they've stopped doing arb stuff. Phone who ever is in charge of short courses and ask them. At £410 it was cheaper than a lot of places I looked.
