  1. Had to remove this old elm quicksmart last week.apparently it had ganoderma ??.large limb snapped out in high winds early thurs morn and we started it at lunch time.the boss said no to a crane so she had to be roped down, they gave us 4 days and she was done in 3.a few of the main laterals on the front stem were 20m plus long, end waiting the tip on a windy day with no high anchor, was some what of the hoop blinking variety. again was a shame but target percentage was very high i.e joe public all day everyday.should of taken more pictures but am more interested in the comments regarding the ganoderma shout and the wind blown limb.

  13. well well yes its happening,im moving back to uk from nz,came out here with a plan to settle down but feel that europe has some more to offer before i settle somewhere.goona be back contract climbing in the uk in early june, living down in the south east near dover, spent 5yrs in nz with a 4 year brake after 4yrs back in uk,so yeah been chopping and changing. Missing my uk work i.e large crown reductions and form pruning as have been doing lots of killing out here ( vegetation control ) as someone once told me. hoping to compete in english open and might be heading to prague for euros with forrest and kilpatrick, cant wait to join the south east reccy climbing lads, got a monster golden pop ( beautiful tree ) that would swallow 10 climbers if mick, bill and lads are interested. So yeah looking forward to meeting some arb talkers,i spend long enough on here so feel like i know most of the weird and wacky chaps that pass through these pages. see you all soon and chow for now NZ. KEEP ON KEEPIN ON.

  15. im gonna be at the english open hopefully competing
  16. fair enough dave but that vt should be backed up with a spike and beaner if hes going a long way off the track. good to here all the above.as perm norm these tricks look over complicated but are really easily to set up and yes dont work for everyone but if it helps you out in a tight spot then its all good. good shout on the chest clip for footlocking mr holland, like you say just clip revolver and climbing system from backpack and go.bonus points in the aerial rescue too for styles
  17. mid line anchor on a footlocking prussic, picked this up from the lads at the asia pacific in auckland a few weeks ago.great for accessing staions on the way up to anchor point without having to set ropeguide, anchor points etc can be done mid air but ideal with a small swing into the crown and lanyard on then change config for mid line anchor, definately a good one to practice on the ground a few times before using in the tree.enjoy
  18. treat ya self to some tachyon bill, you wont be dissapointed
  19. try 1 wayne you wont be disapointed.ive got a home made one with a cocoon, retrieves really well.the ART are very well made but yes quite pricey.they are $800 over here.plus you will def notice how much easier climbing becomes, sounds stupid but its true
  20. throwline SRT,yeah think it was about the size of that cherry
  21. didnt need permission for that one steve, treat them with respect i.e ropeguides and bare foot and the rangers will be all gd.that is just outside auckland at cascade falls.beautiful scenery. no vids sorry bill and no drew was at home sick but still managed to come out drinking that night.
