  1. Nothing, I'm on leave now till the 12th. Jan.
  2. Cool. Using explosive charges now!
  3. ....A pic would be good mate. Have you made one or two ?

    call out

We underwent job-evaluation some years ago and we weren’t allowed to include call-out in the evaluation process, therefore the phone stays off, I can’t wait for a major storm to hit Worcestershire, we can re-negotiate then!

    call out

I learned many years ago to put a monetary value on my free time, It would take a hell of a lot of £££ get my arse out of bed!
  6. I found out a while ago that both my tutors / NPTC assessors are now dead! Cancer apparently (and they didn’t smoke). There may well be no connection with the industry, but its one hell of a coincidence
  7. Nope, its gone. I'll have a sort out and clear some un-wanted stuff. I like the idea of swapping, the ol' black market and all that....Great Idea! I'm after a Caterham, anyone want a fresh soul??

    call out

Nothing down here (mind you, my phone is switched off!)
  9. I've got a pair of new/un-used spikes in the garage collecting dust!
  10. Is there a thread on that little story Dean, I'd love to read it if there is! We were fully extended over the river at one point and the tilt alarm went off. Not Nice!
  11. I know that one mate! We call if the 'Hancock Ar*se Shuffle'.
  12. We quite like squeezing past each other, we’re all very close here in Worcester.
  13. : Thank you ol' timer, I could make good use of a little step-ladder...you never know, in years to come I might develop an interest in sitting on the hopper of my chipper and a very un-healthy interest in fungi P.S. The MEWP had about 120 hours on it. :001_smile
  14. You say that Ian, but I came down from a days work yesterday fresh as a daisy! My cloths didn't stink of sweat, my trousers didn't have green slime all over them, my back didn't ache and I managed to go the whole evening without nodding-off!
  15. I know I might get slated for having two in the basket, but to be honest it worked very well. Most of the limbs were cut with a silky, the second person could then take the cut limb and direct into the drop zone; plus of course I couldn’t handle the silky, MEWP, chainsaw…...and the camera!
  16. This was the first proper job for the new MEWP we purchased recently (it’s actually second hand, having come off a hire fleet from Spiderlift. I tested a lot of MEWPS, most being Italian in origin, the Leo was the last one to have demo’d and I was sold immediately (mostly on build quality)
  17. This was yesterdays job (we finished it off today) We had three willows like this close-by, all of a similar age. One was lost when it suffered a massive limb failure, resulting in a crack right down the middle of the main stem. The second one I crown reduced two seasons ago. This is the thread.. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=4010 This tree is the last of the three. It’s showing extensive reaction growth under some of the main limbs, very close to a café and also had a busy footpath right under the crown. In summer the grass area gets covered with picnickers. My spec was approximately a one third crown reduction, which was flexible according to the extant of the reaction growth.
  18. I had my climbing gear LOLER’ed yesterday. It like sitting in the dentists waiting room or waiting for the car to pass the MOT! Wasn’t too bad in the end, my favourite lowering rope was written off but to be honest I think it needed to retire! Anyway if anyone is after a LOLER inspection in the midlands, try Paul Colley Davies (Seems like a nice chap) He’s also into bush-craft in a BIG way, here is a link to his web site…. http://www.treeclimbing.co.uk/
