  1. I'm suffering from poor head lights too so watching this space.
  2. I didn't say I was pulling on the clamp now did I? It stil had a whole width of turns on it but the clamp wouldn't hold the end enough to maintain purchase. I have done a two day winch course for this type of winch but it Was the winch product that let me down. Anyway, the job got done and thankfully no broken bits on the landy.
  3. I've got a britpart 9500i and it's rubbish! Ok it's pulled me out when stuck but using it on windblown ash the other day it's too slow and the clamp that holds the cable on the reel is pants. Had to wind a few turns on then just reverse vehicle to pull timber out. Would change it but only for hydraulic but don't use often enough to rush into changing.

    Unimog tyre sizes?

Already in my watch list mate, bit more than I wanted to spend.
  9. I think I know the answer to this already but thought I would ask those with more experience on here. Are vehicle mounted winches covered under loler?
  10. Ok I have spotted some half worn dumper Tyres near me and thinking of replacing the worn mpt Tyres on my u900 with them. Will the newer 16x20 Tyres fit where my current 14.5x20 Tyres do?
  11. Bloody hell tommer, that's one loaded trailer and to have loaded by hand ish is blooming good going.
  12. What a beast!
  13. Truck is running great so rad issues resolved. Yep that trailer was nice, still looking on the sly for another and may have found one near by. Now, chips everywhere, yes I really need a roof for the box. Any suggestions? Make one, buy one, ply or metal?
  14. Oh dont start me, ive been looking at them for the last two weeks and just missed one on here, Gensetsteve got there before me. oh and the bricks are my handbrake until i find the new cable i bought and lost in the garage.
  15. Well all seems to be fine, she was chipping Mac all yesterday.
  16. Dean, I did the infra red thermometer trick and nowhere on the engine/cooling system is she getting hot. The gauge reads 90+ but the hottest part is about 79 even round the back of the head and all the core on the rad is within 1 deg of each other, top is hot bottom is cool so it looks like its all working as it should and the gauge is up the shoot! Will test her on light duties tomorrow. Oil changed too so pleased thats done for a while.
  17. They sound great, would love to see one in action.
  18. The matadors look blooming lovely. What makes them so effective? Did daves one pull or winch the stuck tractors out?
  19. If i could fit a rad and only pay for it if it works id do it for sure. dont want to spend crazy money if i dont need too.
  20. Yes donk the belt drives both the waterpump and the fan. Belt has been on there since I've had it and it doesn't look worn or loose but happy to change it.
  21. 18 stoner thanks for that, new belt on it's way. Dean, the coolant is new and rad flushed few times by garage then I took it off again to rad specialist and they checked it out for two days and said all is fine with it. Really wish I could solve the problem as I miss using her now.
  22. Any more pictures of your U900 in action? Im rekindling my love for mine and want to see what we all use them for ie; different attachments etc. Ed.
  23. Ok bits ordered will report back next week. Been thinking about the fan belt and actually this problem started when the altenatuer was removed due to a noisy bearing. It might just be the problem!!
  24. New fan belt? Ok I'll get one of those too, I'm open to anything now! Oil change on the cards too. I miss using the old girl so all fingers crossed.
  25. Ok still going with the old girl, second stat and new temp sender today. Still getting upto and above 90 degs when driving empty under load ie up incline or so. Next up is oil change in the vain hope that will solve the issue as it's a couple years old now. After that I really don't know???!
