  1. Josh, does the air have USB? If it has just download the movies straight to the mac. I use the gopro studio software, free from the gopro website. Not mastered it completely but can do what I want to do.
  2. Looking forward to the new design. I use these at the moment and they are excellent. I think the design is spot on with extra material around the arse and knees. Helikon ECWCS Trousers Generation II Black
  3. Cheers, there are a couple of other vids with rigging on my youtube channel if your interested.
  4. I agree some people need to train to make work easier. I train usually 2 or if I am lucky 3 times a week. That is nothing to do with tree climbing more for my own mental state. I am sure it helps with the work. I contract climb 5 or 6 days a week. For me I think the main advantage that can be gained at work is to work smart. The industry has moved on and equipment has improved somewhat. IMO puffin and pantin you way to the top of a large tree is not that smart IMO. Sometimes it has to be done but why not get good with a throw line, install an access line and SRT up there. It is about working smarter and can guarantee this will prolong your climbing careers more than a gym workout.
  5. :001_tt2: I know, haha, just winding you up mate.
  6. He placed the lumps down on the driveway. Took a couple of attempts and he nearly took out a gate pillar. Got there in the end. Sadly we had to ring the bloody thing up as the customer wanted to keep for firewood. Suppose at least we didn't have to handball it out.
  7. Nice work mate. Did you cut and chuck it all/freefall or rig it out..? Fair size tree that.
  8. Cheers mate.
  9. Not a clue mate. The operator said he could do about 7 ton up close and 1.5 at full tit. I reckon maybe 2.5 - 3 ton. The tree was stone dead so obviously lighter.
  10. We rigged the crown out with a Hiab. Plus got a bit of vid of the last pick. The tree was left at fence height hence the cutting above head.
  11. Today's job was a short but stout dead Beech tree to remove. The tree had plenty of fruiting bodies around the base and had a lot of Ivy Growth in it. Managed to get done in 4 hours with the assistance of a Palfinger hiab. I did a twinned stemmed lawsons Cyprus aswell whilst we had the machine on site.
  12. That would have been Mark Bolam running to get the kettle on!
  13. There you go mate. I had the browser open as i just nicked the screen shot from it. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epIzaVnig-k&list=UUDxq_mj90Xl1_Jnwij0bzkA]Charing Oak - YouTube[/ame]
  14. Sometimes it is not only the size/weight of the piece for the shape. An experienced climber will pick and choose the pieces to be lowered not only to be able to clear obstacles but to make it easier to receive by the guys on the deck. Sometimes I will rigg and number of pieces at the same time so when the head is broken down and lowered it takes up less space.
  15. Worth a watch... Guy Martin's Passion for Life - 4oD - Channel 4
  16. Watched this on 4od today. Great programme. Can't help but be reminded of wolverine though!
  17. Have you considered craning it with the brash on? Would save in man hours and ultimately money in the form of wages. It really isn't that much bother, but of course that depends on your set-up and the site location for vehicles etc. A location would help for you stick query though. Good luck and looking forward to the pics.
  18. I had planned on attending this event but childcare issues and workload had other ideas. Hope you all had a great weekend. Next year!
  19. I always find OP to be a bit sketchy until it wears in. New cord on a new rope is generally the worst combo. Do a couple of long fast descents with the cord tied correctly to bed it in a bit. Once it is worn a bit them it grips a lot more reliably. I tend to use Armor pruss or Beeline these days.
  20. I use Beal rope cleaner. Put the rope in the thing in the kitchen with a glass door on the front and then turn on and explain to the missus it is meant to jump around like that on full spin...
  21. I just tell them - "feel free to put it back together, all the bits are in the back of the truck... I just hope your bloody good at jigsaws!"
  22. You got yourself one of these then D? Is it a tipper back or just pickup? Hope your well mate.
  23. My pantin is one of the first things outta the bag. As for the OP, looks fine to me just a little long, but that has been pointed out. Crack on fella!
  24. I found mine has had no problems oiling like described. After about a year old it stopped oiling and a few flushes of the tank seems to have dislodged whatever crud was in the tank/filter. Been working like a dream since then. Edit: is that Huw?
