  1. Thankyou mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. In your case Dean, you had insurance for tree work, but were carrying out Constitution work. I'm not saying they were right, but its not the same as them finding fault with your working practices. It was the task itself that they said you did not have cover for. If insures could us poor practice to get out of things no one would ever get paid out.
  3. Really don't know how I feel about this??? Is it a compliment??? Or a piss take??? Do I need a " " Or a " "
  4. All the timbers that are regarded as the best fire wood, are quick drying and once dry tend to stay dry. Elm was always considered a poor fuel, But an Elm that dies from DED is dried by gravity and the wind and is some of the finest fuel you could find. I think most people, both past and present, don't dry their timber correctly and so they only rate the stuff that will still burn even if not well seasoned. Last winter I boiled my central heating system with Poplar, because it was DRY.
  5. Sorry too here that. I'm sure he will live on in your memory's
  6. We KEEP hearing this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But NO ONE ever comes up with a REAL example of it happening!!!!!!!!!!! We even had a thread on it and all those who keep going on about it had nothing to say. When was the last time a speeding motorist was not paid out??????????????????????? I'm sorry I've gone off on one but I just wish people would stick to FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I can not decide which is more impressive, the Oak butt or the guy in the middles beard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great pic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I would not be so sure. I know someone who thought their coal merchant was ripping them of. They called trading standards. They came round, swept out the coal bunker, got a the customer to order some coal. After it was delivered the re-bagged and weighed the coal. Sure enough under weight. The coal merchant was prosecuted.
  9. I think the moral of this story is "if you believe the diff is helping, it will" I think Tommer is a Jedi!!!!
  10. Just one word of caution, parts are VERY expensive. I would get it checked out by someone in the know.
  11. Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for taking the time to post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. When its locked its the same as NO diff. Just like other 4x4s.
  13. When its NOT locked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And traction is equal on both axles.
  14. I would not want THAT if it was like NEW and FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Thats the one!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And when times are good "get some wool on your back" to see you through the hard times !!!!!!!
  16. But the defender is the one vehicle (according to you) that doesn't need two.
  17. I'm sorry mate, but you miss understand the center diff. On old landys and other 4x4s, the rear axle is permanently engaged, you engage the front axle to get 4X4. On newer landys with "permanent 4X4" they have simple fitted a diff between the gear box and BOTH axles. They are only "permanent 4X4" in so much as either axle CAN drive, if you jack up one wheel and try to set off it won't, unless you engage the center diff lock.

    mr oakman

I can't believe no one has asked after the cow!!!! Any idea how its doing???????????
  19. The axles on any 4x4 MUST be driven together, or you would need 2 gear boxes. The ONLY difference between the center diff and other 4x4s is it allows "either" axle to be driven.
