  1. What sort of cost is involved in refurbish a SB?? Are they as good as new after??
  2. You need to remember green timber weighs up to 3X more than dry. That the problem is you buy a lot of water with your wood, but sell mostly wood with very little water.
  3. Just spike up the back
  4. So come on Mick, what were the prices???
  5. Could my brother in law (who lives in California) send me such an item as a gift???
  6. Surely not!!!!!!!!!!!!! was the Gano not trying to help the tree stay up, when it unfortunately failed due to some other unknown cause??
  7. I had this problem in the last house we lived in, I cut a hole through the wall behind my fire (a large dog grate) I put an air brick on the out side and a brass close-able vent on the inside, so when the fire was not lit I closed the vent. Last week we had high pressure (thats what was causing all the very cold weather) I think that will have caused a lot of you problem mate.
  8. Never use them for tree work, I don't really think the time they save is worth the hassle of carrying them. I also think not using them makes you quicker at getting up there without them.
  9. I'm thinking of buying a new out door wood boiler from the USA, can any one tell me if I would have to pay and import duty or taxes on such an item?? Many thanks Dave
  10. My confusion, is caused by what appears to be a contradiction in your posts. Initially you say the customer did not want to have the cut again for 10 years and that you cut it in the way you did for this reason. But then in a later post you say in order for the tree to benefit from your work it should not be left to long before the next cut.

    Cold feet

This country mate!! Smoking doesn't just kill you, it kills you in a slow and painful manner The circulation in your feet and legs can get so bad that your legs die, so they have to be removed in order for you to survive. I think one of the most depressing and stupid things I ever saw was two guys stood out side a house smoking, one was an old man in pajamas and a dressing gown (he was obviously recovering from surgery) he must have had throat cancer and had had his larynx removed, he had to use one of those mechanical voice boxes you hold to your throat to speak. He was blowing smoke out of the hole in his neck. The other guy was a young lad in his 20's smoking away next to him. I thought to my self, he can see his own future right there in that old guy, BUT he's still puffing away??????
  12. The Haix protector pro's defiantly have a steel plate, I've burnt a few of my old pairs and found the plate in the ashes. Great boots IMO Hope it heals quick Greg!!!

You really must STOP SMOKING!!!!!!!! I worked for a retired surgeon who had spent most of his career removing the legs from smokers!!!
  14. If this is the case, why start the thread with the question you did??????? The title of the thread should have been................ Look another of my blinding jobs, bet you all wish you were as good as me!!!
  15. When you buy on ebay you know it not the same as buying from a shop ( I'm sure this is reflected in the price he paid) so he cannot expect the same rights as when buying from a shop, if he's telling the true its a shame that this has happened, but its not your fault. He could be just trying it on, but either way its really not your problem, IMO.
  16. I have my radiators so hot you can't keep your hand on them, my little girls are always getting undressed and dressing up. I could sit in my house naked no problem at all Do you sit in the house wearing coat, hat and gloves???
  17. Why are people so cynical??????????????
  18. The funniest part is that on the letter they spelled my name wrong but it still works!! I always pay my tax on time, so no real harm done, I think they would only get heavy if they thought I was trying to evade tax.
  19. lol!!!!!!!!!! Yes the novelty of this weather wore off a while back:thumbdown: I keep hoping it will throw it down and wash all this white crap away!!! Never thought I would be WANTING rain!!
