  1. Don't know, thats why I'm thinking of getting a scale, I'm guessing different woods will loss timber at different rate and different areas of the kiln will be more efficient at shifting the water. I'm hoping to build up a good idea of whats going on, without the need to get logs from the centre of each cage, cool them, split then and use moisture metre.
  2. Yes, but by weighing before and after so time you can calculate water loss.
  3. So the 7 day customers get lucky???
  4. How do you know how dry they are???
  5. No, See Marko's post below.
  6. That would require taking the cages out of the kiln though, with the pallet truck I could just go though the kiln weighing each stack.
  7. Still experimenting with my kiln, getting good results, I was wondering about something like this to monitor the drying progress PALLET TRUCK WEIGHT SCALE HAND MANUAL DOOSAN DELIVERED | eBay I stack the IBC's two high in the kiln, I could weigh the each stack, calk the weight on the stack, then check the weight after a few days. Any one done this or any one see any reason it would not work???
  8. Would it not be a bit fast/aggressive??? Splitting and warping in firewood is not problem, but obvious boards need to be kept as stable as possible, so drying needs to be slow, beams may be ok, so long as your wanting the rustic look.

  10. Lime?? Although it look kinda like Apple, but the twig looks wrong for apple?
  11. Can't see the pics here??? Is it cause I'm on Mac???
  12. I would not entertain one under 13hp personally.
  13. Trampoline, takes a few goes to get the trailer in the right spot and there can be a little collateral damage, but it saves double handling
  14. Are you having to turn off road work away, because you can't do it?? IME, getting equipment does not produce work, it only enables you to do work. I've alway got the work first, struggled with existing kit, so up graded. For example, if your running a transit, doing 7 days a week and always full, then getting 7.5 toner and getting the same amount of work done in 5 days would make sense, IMO.
  15. Enjoyed that I really need to give SRT a go, I was on a prussic for 15+years, coming on here got me onto a spiderjack and now a ZZ, must try and move with the times.
  16. If a mother works full time, they cannot be there when the children come home, thats fact, hence the turn "latch key kids" they are by definition "fending for themselves" I made it very clear this was simply my own opinion and others were free to disagree. My post was a statement of fact aimed at no individual, yours was a fiction intended to insult.
  17. Does your offensive nature take effort or is it a naturally occurring affliction???
  18. Where do you want to park it?? If you were at annoy your neighbours they could get the authorities to make your life difficult.
  19. My first thought would be taking 15' off a 90' conifer is a huge mistake. But if they insisted is what they wanted I'd be happy too help, gears sounds more than adequate for the task.
  20. Two are nearly 18 and 19, but yes I agree, keeping house is a very demanding job, we benefit from a very well kept house, home cooked meals, excellent packed lunches and I've had breakfast in bed for 20 years!! I'd highly recommend it and she is the envy of many of her friends, many thought we were very old fashioned when first getting to know us, but has since admitted it really works and wish they could do the same.
  21. Presuming you were using drt, how could your groundie possible estimate if you had enough rope??? You would have needed to get the tail sent up and see how near the floor the loop was.
  22. Reflect on what??? How stupid some people are??? The apple had clearly not fallen far from the tree!!!
