  1. BushWear - Outdoor clothing shooting and stalking equipment stealth cameras are on offer. ive had loads of logs pinched im going yo move the lot at my expence but cant add on to customers but at least the theives cant get at them.
  2. i have some oregon advanced type c there heavy and pretty robust, not the best to climb in either realy. i use sip freedom there the dogs in my oppinion light, comfy and pretty hard wearing ive got the freedom 1 had them a few years but they are well patched the freedom 2 there also good and will probably buy them again. i do climb a fair bit so my oppinion is from a climbing point of view and not as a groundy
  3. or a trailer to put it on and use it as a bowser. be feckin heavy whichever way
  4. white tanks in a cage swinney. go to carlson filtration on calfhall road they used to have a pile of them
  5. you have a job and its a wage at 19 you would be better off gaining more experiance from your paid work rather that setting up by yourself in my oppinion. Insurance is only a factor in business, you will need a groundie equipment, storage etc, dont get me wrong if you can make a do of it then have a go,but there isnt many companies that would be happy employing someone who has there own setup to work for them, and then go doing there own work as well,Not in the same area as they may think you would be poaching there work off them(im not saying you would just a thought from experience)
  6. the oil from ikea is called skydd and its £4.19 for .5l ive used it and found that its good soaks in well and odourless i will get some more when i go near an ikea.
  7. my regular customers are all supplied now, ive sold 8 animal feed bags this month and no enquiries but theres a few people doing cheap, green softwood which i cant compete against so not that bothered at moment. I sell a fair amount in the new year usualy.
  8. thanks for that will investigate this week.
  9. how do you plan on making the butchers block? its usually made in blocks end grain facing upwards and braced with a frame to stop spliting if you used it just like a board it would warp and eventuakky split. Ive only seen sycamore blocks but ive heard older ones were made of beech.
  10. where do you get that from i need to do my block? cheers
  11. i agree and think it should be theres a lot of people who have the firearms and permission to shoot that lack the knowledge and experiance to do the job correctly and humanely.
  12. ikea used to use a food safe oil i used to use it on my butchers block. i think if your using sycamore kiln dried would be best my block is edged with beech as its a harder wood for taking knocks if its been used, a bread board doesnt need to be so heavily constructed. ive seen beech ones as well but i havnt seen an oak one i think it may taint food because of its high tanning content but not sure. if you have a local butcher you might be able to ask advice there.also just a thought if you are making it traditionally as in squares cut and fixed together grain pointing upwards reason for this it doesnt chip lumps of wood off when chopping, you must consider the fact that the glue has to be waterproof and non-toxic.
  13. looks good tool for straight grained wood what would it be like on knotty logs ?
  14. wow there keen priced for what they are!
  15. shootinguk.co.uk is another site of interest.
  16. try The Hunting Life- Fieldsports, Ferreting, Lurchers, Pigeon Shooting and Gamekeeping. loads of tpics on there.
  17. funny wanting an ajustable comb, unless your meaning a multi-choke,parrazi are excellent guns but ive never seen one that cheap to be honest. My friend that shoots clays swear by the barrettas range ive shot some and are well balanced and seemed to shoulder well.My advice would be to try as many guns as you can but dont tell the dealer you budget this way you cant get stuffed The way it shoots is better than the way it looks in my oppinion. When i buy a new rifle the scope is the most expensive part on it not the gun.
  18. some body buying an artic load of timber would possibly be selling it on for beer money at weekends. After already earning a wage during the week round me theres a few i cant compete with unseasoned timber at 30 quid a pickupload. people want cheap not paying more and getting dry seasoned quality hardwood put it next to the fire itldry attitudes only increase work for chimney sweeps and firemen wen the gunk in there chimneys sets on fire IMO that is I just supply my regulars and use it myself saves me paying heating bills.
  19. ask the yorkshireman hes not a million miles from you.
  20. as quoted in previous comments the timber jig will wander if both ends of the bar arnt supported. especially in oak i have a timberjig and i made my fireplace out of oak using a 36inch bar it was wandering over 5 mm in oak, espesially if you hit a knot i found using a 25inch bar on my 084 was best but with a 24 inch log it would only just fit through as part of the bar is in the jig itself. the sawmill that holds both ends is best you can get ones that you do the first cut riding on a rail some people use a ladder to start but im not experianced in that application.
  21. i have a fake ms390 got it given dont know how it passes as a stihl to be honest
  22. its when you talk about it in your sleep. or when your lying cuddled up in passion with the missus and you think of a reply to a forum question.
